I run em' and love em'.
Put all my HID stuff in boxes, never to be used again.
Just finished my first grow with them, and pulled 1.3 GPW's, best I have ever done with HPS was .83

3 boards on a hlg 480 48a pulling around 570 watts
Wish I went with all fotop boards. The 6 bar fixture is meh.
Really nice spread of light.. Nice looking room.
What wattage do the bars run at and do the bars have deep reds, far reds or are they just whites? Are the bars adjustable?
Do you have a lux meter par meter?
You coulda spread the FOTOP boards even wider and squeezed the meh bars closer together.
You are gonna kill it with that setup and good luck! :bigjoint:

Bars run at 450 watts I don’t remember exactly what diodes they have but looks like 3500k 3000k and 660s. Bars aren’t adjustable.
I do have a lux meter.
With the bars I literally couldn’t spread the fotop boards. Those 3 fixture cover 105.5” long lol.
So looks like it’s about 1600 watts total.
I honestly wish I never gambled on the bars and with with all fotops. Hoping it will still do good.

Hello my Cannabis and THC brothers and sisters i´m here again with a question.
So i have 2 pieces Chinese quantum 288 boards and i hooked them up on a HLG 80H-48A in parallel .
They light up and very bright also but when i test the Voltage of the output it shows maximal 45 Volt ,
this is with the inbuild Voltage and Ampere crancked up to the max.
I always thought they need around 48 Volts ?
Maybe i miss something and i hope this Voltage is OK .

Greets, nederwieirie .

Youre running those lights exceptionally soft. If you try again with just one it should read higher. When they say 48V board it means (well in this case) that the basic serial string is 16 diodes of around 3 V. But ran so soft, almost a quarter under nominal current, the diodes wont reach 3 volts maybe more like 2.6-2.7 v. Anyways youre good with that driver/voltage and congrats i dont think ive seen anyone run the so soft and effocient.

Thank you very much for explaning , i did´nt realize that but you made it clear . The brand is called ´ KingShine ´ ( and yes they shine like a king of light ) with the LM561C diodes.
Thnx again for the explaining now i can build the light further.
Happy smoking and have a nice day !

It's been about two weeks since i received my light and let me say it's really kicking ass in my grow tent. Attached are a picture from today and a picture from when I installed the light to compare. A lot of growth in just under two weeks.

So, 3x hlg320 for 18 square feet? I think youre overlighting your space, its around 50w per square foot of lm561c at nominal current. Thats like almost the sun! From experience: we used 3x hlg240 for a space slightly larger than yours. Also around nominal current for the chip. And it was more than enough.
Id seriously look into going down one size driver.

And i would love to see it up and lit.
The benefit from this kind of fixture instead of using fotops across your space is that you can dim the middle row slightly for perfect even cover.

Lovely lookin. Youll love this setup once you got it up.

Thank you very much! I did´nt realise the surface size spreads the heat better into the air.
I will use a slight larger alluminium sheet like 40 by 40 CM and 6 MM thickness and if needed some C Channels to reduce the heat better.
Thank you very much for this advice , i learned a lot from your answer and now i know what to do.

Greets and have a nice weekend !

A quick update . The 40x40 CM 6MM alu sheetplate did´nt cool the 2 x 288 boards @ around 80 watt ( 40 watt a piece ) to much.
After 4 hours the plate was warm enough to under a little of the painborder when touching with the hands.
Looked like the sheet on it own collected the warmth till it was to much.
After i placed around 20 L-profils 15x15 MM of 40 CM long on the aluplate it worked like a charm .
There are now for testing 1 row of 3 Pc fans of 80 MM placed on the L-profiles , and that test went great so there comes another 2 rows of 3 x 80 fans so 9 total for the whole board.
Now the plate gets around 25 Degrees Celsius so it works great.
The Meanwell driver is another question since this thing gets around 47 Celsius Degrees , is that normal ?

But for the rest it works like a charm.
Have a nice weekend worldwide Cannabisbrothers and sisters !

Ok, just make sure you hang it high too start with, its going to light the pants off your plants. I know the watts look similar but i guess you have to see it for yourself. Its not only about the watts its about the distribution of the light and having much more LES.
Id expect +1000 ppfd at about 12 inches guesstimating. I find it much easier and productive to grow around 700-800, at 1000 your almost bound to get deficiencies and stunt them. But we grow a 11 week strain so we have plenty of time to give them light slower.

Hey guys any inline fan and carbon filter suggestions?
Room is 10x11x9 so figuring something around 1000cfm
i would use a 8" systemair revolution vector ec fan (1332cfm), with a canfan/gse lcd ec fan controller (canfan version is cheaper than the gse for some reason) and for the filter i like mountainair but the deep bed version of the carboair look good.
