My daughter said that last night. That's a map app I take it?
It's more than just a map app.

Ouch sorry about the phone at least @lokie got the spelling right.
One thing check to see if there's any firmware update needed on your phone from your carrier.
A family member works there at Verizon since getting out of school 3 years ago.

He's learned a lot, fixed other things for us. Says to try calling LG after the weekend but not to expect much.

They'll probably want me to reset it back to factory default and lose everything on the phone, and it still may not work.

Probably use it this way for a while but GPS is synched with my car and truck in case of accident and you're KO'd.

I'm not a spy so I think I'd like my GPS to be known.

I'll work on it. Maybe LG will at least give me a coupon or something.

It works again!

I called LG and tech support was in.

I had to go into maps and hit clear data (instead of clear cache like I already did) and it worked.

Wayz also doesn't give the no GPS alert.

The girl said all the other apps use Google maps so clearing Google maps fixes the others. Unless you don't have Google maps then you clear data for what you have I presume.

I love it when a plan comes together.

I'm going for a ride.

That's good to hear.

Well, I thought it fixed yesterday. Lol.

Went to Giant Eagle for some things and ran Maps. When stationary it seems to work. When you drive 2 miles it doesn't seem to follow along, then it catches up when you get there. Same with Wayz.

So still problematic. I just wish I knew if it's the phone or the app. (that girl yesterday said all apps use Google maps.)

I also must have hit synch button and shut it off because I wasn't paired with truck today, had to re-synch.

You can't safely drive and trouble shoot a phone. My old phone works fine. Go figure.

There was an 8-22 update for Maps. If it was a bad update, they'll fix it. I'll give it a week or 2 and keep sniffing around for a fix. My old phone isn't running the same version of maps.

Annoying but not the end of the world.

Sorry to hear that. It's really frustrating when the maps aren't working right.

I think I have a bad GPS sensor in my phone. $72 to fix at LG tech center and you have to ship it for more money.

A few days ago I didn't know phones even had a GPS sensor. (Never thought about how they worked before)

I can trade it in and get the normal $200, but they have a $450 back promotion running now. I probably don't qualify, I never seem to get the best rebate.

They say on line 'if it's in good working order'. Lol.

Well, look it over and tell me the GPS sensor is bad. You can't tell unless you're driving. Stationary, it works fine. It won't detect constant movement. But it catches up every few miles. Not exactly what you need when using GPS when it tells you to turn left on main street after you passed main street a mile back.

Digital tech is fabulous until a tiny little circuit board goes on the blink and it takes a weekend to isolate the problem.

Shit happens.

Mine was lagging like that and then they pushed a firmware upgrade. The phone company apparently changed something. But I had an iPhone not LG.

Still studying, will inquire.

No rush.

I have an old phone for navigation if I need it. That $450 off idea on a new one is tempting though, if I qualify. Almost half price, it may be an offer I can't refuse.
