Rising pH in res used for handwatering?

Not with organics. As I stated before you should use myko inoculants with organics.

You could try mixing potassium silicate before adding nutrients to buffer the water and stabilize the solution.

Seems pointless to advocate doing something and then say thats not what you would do. But anyways lol.

Anyone here use floranova bloom in a reservoir? I handwater with a watering wand and pump in soil so the ph can be off a bit I'm just worried it might get smelly after a few days. I'll have another pump with tubing creating a waterfall effect and run that a few times a day.

You didn't read all my posts then. I don't want any pissing game with you. I admire your experience but I think you can be a smartass sometimes. It's very easy to be a skeptic but you won't learn optimally from it. I also think everyone gets blinded by their own methods and way of growing.

If using silica I would say good practice is to premix it in a gallon and ph down to 5.6ish then add to the res so you do not run into the issue of precipitate.

It's not pointless giving more than one option. You add Silica and then use pH down before adding any nutrients, that way you won't get any precipitations. This is common practice growing in hydro.

i never had any smells with it. it's a pretty good nute based on the Lucas formula so it works start to finish. it's thick as molasses though.

Yeah it's thick, hard to suck up into a syringe i might start using a teaspoon to measure it out.

here's a little additive that i use with maxibloom to get the same thing as floranova :

BioAg CytoPlus. kelp, humics, micros. powder and very cheap. 1/2 gram per gallon.

I'll mix up whatever I need in a blender with lukewarm water and I always have a layer of white sediment on the bottom. I heard it's "binder" but I'm not sure tbh

no sediment from maxi here but i run a waterfall in my feed res 24/7. i do get a bit of sediment from the bio ag but not too bad. and since i started using it, i've been able to run much lower EC. net EC is only 0.5 nowadays at max dose.

i used that ful power too but it was expensive i thought for how much you need to run per dose.

Yeah I actually ended up spending more money and time growing organically so I switched back to salts lol anyways I do get some sediment from the maxi bloom but my plants grow perfectly so im not worried about it. Maybe when I start running the waterfall it will all get dissolved but either way it's cheap and works great.

White sediment can be from calcium falling out of solution after reacting with a base. If there is no deficiency and the precipitate isn't causing problems in your system then I wouldn't be concerned.

If you are using tap H2O then it's possible the precipitate is calcium from the water.

we're on well water up here with a good amt of Ca and I dont' get anything dropping out.

do you add calmg @dubekoms with the Maxi? i only add epsom .

So possibly the calcium carbonate from the water and not the calcium nitrate from the fertilizer. My tap is about .2 ec and sits at 8.1 ph.

My next question would be if any pH buffers are involved. Really though since the plant is healthy no worries, just see what GH has to say.
