Good organic soil mix?

Hey guys! I’m going to start my 4th grow here very soon and I don’t want to grow in miracle gro (although I heard the organic line is decent).

I want to know if using fox farm as my base soil and using Dr Earth dry amendments is a good go? I already have the nutrients I need, the all purpose 4-4-4 and the Flower girl 2-8-4. My question is will these 2 things combined give me good results?

My grow setup will be a 4x4 grow tent with a 600w HPS. I will have a humidifier and plenty of fans (intake and exhaust). Let me know what you guys think and maybe give some better options for a growing medium/nutes. I’d like to use the Dr Earth since I have already purchased it

Just mix lightly? I tried one time with a couple seeds and I cooked them. But I think I added too much nutes. Next time just be lighter with them?

I plan on vegging for 3ish months. I want monster plants. Ocean forest won’t support it for 3 months will it?

The two in the back of the tent were exactly 8 weeks from seed. This is a 5x5 tent, the day i flipped to 12/12

A week later. Those two plants easily take up close to 1/3 of the tent and they have a good bit of stretching to do yet, by the time they are done they will be taking up very close to 1/2 of the tent.

This is the soil I use. I have not given them any nutes and I dont plan to for at least 3-5 more weeks.

It's totally organic. But some of their liquid nutrients aren't. That's why I'm not a fan of Tiger Bloom or Grow Big.

FoxFarm Ocean Forest Potting Soil consists of 100% natural and organic ingredients which provides your plants everything they need to help them grow healthy. It features a special blend of sea going fish and crab meal, earthworm castings and bat guano. The presence of sandy loam, sphagnum peat moss and aged forest products gives it an aerated and light texture. Its pH level is adjusted at 6.3 to 6.8 to obtain maximum fertilizer uptake. Its ready-to-use formulation can be used right out of the bag. It is designed for use in containers. Product is available in 12-quart and 1.5 cubic feet bag.

Interesting. I was wrong. Ive never used fox farms, never really looked into it that closely.

I start my seeds in it. I like it but it is light on nutrients and doesnt hold hardly any water (which is great for seeds). Mixing it with soil that holds to much water or is a little to hot out of the bag can give you a really nice blend though.

I stated out with FFOF got decent results, started checking out organic no till threads from some really good people and learned true LITFA. Made up a batch of organic living soil and let nature do the rest. I've never regretted it and get the best results ever. Check it out. Hope it helps
