So Today was my first post here, and i said i would post a few pictures. Here is a pic of my setup shortly after it was finished. Ill take some updated pictures tomorrow. Let me know what you think.

box that room off because when you start flowering and switch to 12/12 your plants need complete darkness. your lights look good for vegging, for now

The doors are open on the box right now. Everything seals up so no light leaks out. Right now I have those 4 florescent tubes, a few 100w cfls and a few more tube florescents over the mothers. Do they need more light?

it depends how big you want them to be, that'll work for about a foot and a half then i'd turn the lights vertically if i were you i'd move them closer to the light (2-4" away) cuz it looks like they could be elongating but i can't really tell from the shot

better but i'd still bring the 4' rods much closer, and get some vertical rods for the bigger ones. if i were u i'd look into a(or 2) 250 watt hps and try something like this

that's a strong light and look how close they are to it. with your space your better off with one of these

forecents are probably the weakest grow light you could use. i'm going to get some cfls for my closet and let them dangle between the foliage

your plants wont fill out with those

I just topped those mothers last night, so Ill be moving those lights down today. Im going to be using a 400w digital HPS for the flowering.

I also have 3 100w cfl bulbs dangling in there, i guess you cant see them in the pics. Does this help out at all?

nah, use that for your vegging HPS's are blue on the light spectrum, better for veg. that'd be enough for all those plants. get a 400 watt Metal Halide light for flowering, it's red on the light spectrum which promotes flowering that will be more than enough light for your space

I think you may have it backwards. MH bulbs are more for veg. HPS are the red spectrum. The ballast i have is switchable, and i have both bulbs, but the temp in there becomes outrageous after about 10 minutes.

MH (Metal Halide) bulbs produce a light that is very close to full summer sun, with a spectrum rich in the blue end. This promotes fast vegetative growth and compact, stocky plants with short internodal leaf spacing...the rule of thumb is that metal halide light spectrum is best for dense vegetative growth and the high pressure sodium is best suited for blooming growth.

hmmm, i guess when my friend sold me his lights he lied. maybe that's the reason my babies are growing slow, my plants are dense and this HPS is working great for my closet

Ya man. Switch those babies around and you should see a difference.

Yes, MH has blue spectrum, and HPS has the orange/red spectrum...you CAN use HPS for both veg and bloom, but it's better if you can switch from MH-veg to HPS-flower.
