She's drinking 1gal/day?!

My GG Auto is 38 days old. Growing DWC, 5gal buckets.

I just refilled the reservoir 24 hours ago and she has already slurped up a gallon of feed. My gut instinct tells me this is a good thing, even better because my ppms are holding stable. Seems like she's taking up the nutes and water at the same rate.

So many things with growing are counterintuitive, though, so any experienced growers want to weigh in and tell me if this is awesome, bad, or normal?

Looks good, you didn’t mention temps but I assume it’s under led, high temp can make it drink faster, not a great thing later if it ends up loaded up on salts. My 4 big plants are using 5 plus gallons a day going into week 8 of 12/12. Water drops, ph and ec static is a good thing. If ec goes up, back off a bit. They will drink a lot yes. Where abouts in the grow are you? Like 2 weeks 12/12?

Thanks, good to know! Temps are good, 72 at the base, 77 at the canopy, although the temp can fluctuate 4 degrees in either direction.

RH has been a bit high, between 50 and 60% consistently.

They're autos so they're on a constant 18/6 cycle. They are on day 38, she first showed her sex on day 17, and she's been on the stretch for about 10 days now.

Bad ass!!! very clean roots, looking to try hydro very soon. How was the learning curve from soil to hydro.
Dude, I jumped right into hydro so no idea :D

I have had no big issues though so either I'm a natural or it's just easy. I'm going with the latter lol.

Here's my journal though, week 4 was a bit of a wreck but I logged all of my mistakes and successes so it might help you out!

How often do you supercrop, also how many times did you super crop this plant?

What type of lights do you use?

Aww I see your using LED lights... I wonder how well hydro would do using CMH 315w lights. Curious if the water would get too warm and how warm is to warm would be my second question.
CMHs look fine, I just make sure my air pump is next to a vent so it blows cooler air into the buckets.

Too warm is over 72. Seems weird because you want your plants to be around 77, but the water is always a bit cooler. You can spray paint them a bright white and use hydroguard just in case though.

Are you using Hydro as well???
The first two words of my post were "in soil" so no im not in hydro lol. My point was that my 5x5 gent is going through a stead 2 gallons per day and im in soil which makes it harder for them to drink. I think a gallon a day is reasonable especially if you have low humidity.

Sorry, I missed this.

I did not super crop at all. The only training I have done is defoliation and I bent two stems that were getting too tall. The end result does resemble supercropping, I'm very surprised by that.

Ya it totally looks like a super crop. I mean you had to pinch and twist in order to get it bend right?? This is the end would be super cropping I would assume.

Sort of, supercropping would begin a lot sooner. Me bending was just to get it to the correct level with the light. Here is a shot from before I bent it. Not much difference really.Screenshot_20200720-173625_Chrome.jpg
