She’s got some amber...

I said I wasn’t going to do it but here it is. I’ve been patient, I’m thinkomg it might be in its final 7 days. Seeing 50/50 milky/amber, but the POS pocket microscope I use is a pain in the ass (ordered a 30x 60x loupe today) and makes it hard to focus on any one area for a long time.

@BobThe420Builder i just looked at the infograph you put up on another thread, I still have some white hairs but from what I could see I was at about 50% amber trichs
I'd say chop. But I prefer mine around 10-25% amber. But on new (to me) strains I'd cut a test bud somewhere around the upper part of the plant, quick dry and smoke it. I would have started that around 10%. (SMALL bud you don't wanna be having conversations with your toaster again).

BTW congrats on reaching harvest. I'm always glad to get to kill a table myself. Also expect the dried but to be an awful smoke no matter how you quick dry it. Just pay attention to the high profile. If you are to high to pay attention, CHOP.

Thanks for the reply. I chopped my last two plants wayyyy too early, so I promised myself I wouldn’t do that this time. It’s just a little worried with it still having white hairs on it, I don’t want to make the same mistake again.

That why test buds are important. If you have doubts smoke a couple from different areas. I strain hunt for pain relief strains so I always have something new and different on the table (usually many new somethings). Taking a test bud is essential. You want to harvest when the plant has the high profile that is attractive to you.

How would you recommend a quick dry? Last time I did it in a microwave and it honestly made the weed feel more wet than when I put it in. I ended up hitting it out of my bong with a huge blow torch just to get it to burn (would much rather have smoked a blunt of it)

Microwaving seemed counterproductive to me. I usually put mine on some aluminum foil in the oven at 175F until it feels smokable. I've also broken it up a bit and used my Volcano. The oven seemed to be quickest and most effective.

do a test bud first....who knows you might wanna leave it a couple of more days before chop.....go from there

nice work

I always put teeter nugs ontop of my xbox fan. Blows warm air over it and overnight it dries out. Not nearly as harsh as the microwave method.

back in the early 90's when I wanted a fast dry sample nug I would set it on top of my 400 watt light reflector. It would be dry in about 8 - 12 hours and taste a LOT better than microwaved bud.
