I really like my set up with mars hydro. I think my next grab will be a cheap HLG to try them out. I’d do the same thing big bro. I’d toss the blurple in the veg tent.

Just got my GrowBright OctoCloner in the mail. I set up 4 clones of blue dream and 4 of the Zkittles. Setup was a breeze. Trying without rooting hormone since I dont have any. Plus I wanted to see if it will work with just ph'd tap water to see if clonex and R/O water is a necessity or just helpful. here goes nothin!

This is day 2 on the clones. I'm expecting to see roots within 9 to 14 days. After that, let's just hope one of these 2 strains are worth cloning. I know the answer to that in 4 to 6 weeks. By that time I should know where these phenos are headed, quality wise

A few of these jars are a bit dry. Got a few extra bovedo packs to try n bring a little moisture back. Hopefully it hasnt dried so much that the curing process has stopped. that happens unfortunately

Ordered a Zacro LCD Digital Aquarium Thermometer to check the temperature of the water in the "reservoir" for the clones if that's what we're calling it.Screenshot_20200911-091938_Chrome.jpg It's very important to keep it in the right range. Too low = slow to no root growth, Too high = bacterial growth and slimy shit rotting your precious roots. So if two things are key here, I'd say one is the "root zone" temp and the other is humidity. I think if u get those right, you'll get roots every time

I put my Thermometer in my res for the clones and the water temp hit 85. Too high from what I've read. It's also been reported that aerocloner can get away with that sometimes because the sprayers cause alot of surface movement and making the water more oxygenated ‍. So what I've done is put the pump on a timer. I think its 15 on 15 off. No roots just yet but I got a hunch that they're comin. I also am alternating 3 frozen water bottles in the res to fight higher temps. initially I can get it down to 62°F and it creeps up, hovering in high 60s for a few hours and so on up to 80 or so when I rotate out those 3 and pop in 3 fresh ones. misting regularly and patiently waiting. No signs of anything dying off yet so that's good

It's a real fight keeping these temps out of the 80s but I'm persistent 20200914_111457.jpg
No real roots to speak of and the one that Looks like roots isnt. Idk what happend but it got like grinded up. My best guess is it got stuck between a water bottle and the sprayer since it has a long ass stem. However, in the picks below u will see some swelling at the part just above where the cut was made. I think we will have roots sooner rather than later. The blue dream clones are not happy. Not dead but definitely NOT happy. In misting very regularly and fighting the water temps20200914_111515.jpg20200914_112359.jpg20200914_112050.jpg20200914_112116.jpg

But b4 I do that I wanted to show u the the good news. My first successful cloning attempt after MANY YEARS of failing. 20200916_094428.jpg20200916_094409.jpg20200916_094400.jpgI'll tell ya what. I didn't think it'd be the blue dream because of how yellow and droopy they're getting but to my surprise she popped the first roots. Hope u all have a good day TTYL.

Yea these roots are coming in strong now. Looking really white n healthy. I changed the res earlier and added a very small amount of veg nutes and some organic stuff I have that's derived from bat guano and things like that. it's very gentle. the plants perked up a bit and seemed to have appreciated the small boost of energy over the last 8 hours and root growth has not slowed. Only about 3 of the 8 are showing small roots but the others look as if they're coming soon in the next few days. I'll probably only keep 2 of each strain anyway. The other 4 I'll trash or give away if a friend decides to try their hand at growing.

I have no idea if I'm even going to grow these out. Depend on how the mothers of these developed in the coming weeks. If either of these phenos dont check my 5 boxes completely then it's on to the next. I'm looking for the staples of my garden for the next year or so. I need gems. Fire phenos. Unfortunately with a small setup, this hunt could be on for a while

I wonder what's taking the Zkittlez so long. Probably a strain thing
