Will update pics and measurements when I get home. Stay tuned.by any chance can u flip it over and snap a pic of the board side I wanna see if its the exact same heatsink. @Doug Dawson
so what I'm getting is that their running 600W on the same heatsink. because my 550 on max would get hot to the point u wouldn't want to touch it really. i find that interesting but I guess. So I got a less tha impressive response from HLG, apparently this has happened multiple times yet they keep doing it. Here is what they said.
"I spoke with HLG USA and they have informed that this concern has been raised a bunch already,
From HLG USA: This has happened multiple times. This is simply a case where we did not have 600 etl stickers at the time so we slapped a 550 sticker onto it so that it could have a serial number on it.
It is most definitely a 600 if a 600 driver is on the backside of it."
To just slap the wrong sticker on an expensive light to get it out the door is unscrupulous and misleading. When I get home I will measure the light to at lease make sure it is what they say. I will update later.
According to the comparison sheet on HLG site it saysso what I'm getting is that their running 600W on the same heatsink. because my 550 on max would get hot to the point u wouldn't want to touch it really. i find that interesting but I guess.
it prob is then. you'll figure it out when u get home.According to the comparison sheet on HLG site it says

It should be 2" bigger. I got that from HLG site. https://horticulturelightinggroup.com/blogs/news/comparing-hlg-600-rspec-vs-hlg-550-rspec
Thanks, I also ordered a lux meter as it is easier than using my phone. My biggest issue is the size of the heat sync. According to HLG they cannot use a 550 sync on a 600 driver, it needs to have a bigger one. This could be just what they said and just got a sticker put on it so they could sell it, if so there will be no performance issues. I get that you don't grow with the label, but when it comes to proper labeling of a product it is just plain wrong to put a label showing the wrong model and power draw on an electrical device. What if you ever want to resell your light, how do you convince someone it is not the model listed on the product? Heck even the SN shows it is from 2019 when the 600 didn't exist. Time will tell.It looks like HLG is phasing out the 550 and the 650 and transitioning to a 600 model. I guess they are sort of combining parts from current batches right now.
Doug, I wouldn't be too upset, if looks like you're gonna get performance similar to the 650 for a price similar to the 550. So that's good.
Regarding the dimmer knob, there is no etching or marking, but if you turn the dial you can feel a "notch" or a "click" at the half way point. From there, it's pretty easy to go back or forward 1/2 or 1/3 of a click.
Could be, so far all they have said is they put the wrong stickers on them and have had multiple complaints. That in itself bothers me, if you are putting deceiving labels on products and getting multiple complaints why would any honest company keep doing it? In the end I really do want this to work out, I did not spend all the time and energy researching lights and than spending a ton of cash just to have problems. I want to be able to say HLG took care of my issues, customer service goes a long way with me. I would like my expensive light to say the correct model, show the correct power draw and not say it was made in 2019 before the 600 even came out. The biggest concern will the measurements which I will confirm once I get home.So if its the wrong heatsink I bet that you will be given another light that is the correct setup or in the least another heatsink and you are able to hold on to the one heatsink that came with your light. Awhile back I had a meanwell driver go out on me and HLG responded with a new driver delivered to my door, unfortunately the wrong driver was set out (actually a nicer one that came with a dimmer). Being a newbie and not understanding that I could have used it I called HLG and they sent out the correct driver to me so it was a plug and play situation. During the conversation the warranty tech mentioned that they had started to go away from using some of the meanwell drivers because testing had shown that MW's weren't as reliable in higher wattages so they decided to use another company that had tested better.
Way better than pulling a rubber plug and using a screwdriver! It looks like HLG is phasing out the 550 and the 650 and transitioning to a 600 model. I guess they are sort of combining parts from current batches right now.

Here you go, I didn't take the plastic off but it should give you what you need. If you want one with the plastic off I will unpack it further.by any chance can u flip it over and snap a pic of the board side I wanna see if its the exact same heatsink. @Doug Dawson
Nice choice. I saw the pics yesterday when you got it. You're stoked. Is it up yet?Hello all, just sitting here smoking some God Bud and hoping I made the right call. Been looking at lights for a while now and was aiming at the Spider Farmer 4000. I am using a MH/HPS 1000 watt system but was looking to help with heat issues. I have had many pointing at HLG but the price tag just seemed unreasonable. I emailed HLG Canada today since the RIU coupon code doesnt work in Canada and they gave me a code for 10% off and confirmed that the lights are CSA certified with a 3 year warranty so after sitting here all day debating I just smoked another joint and pulled the trigger. Now I have a HLG 600 RSPEC on the way. Growing takes so long I just want to give my plants the best I can. Not sure why I am babbling this out over RIU but guess I am dealing with the sticker shock, lol. Anyway this is going into a 4X4 tent that will next grow 2 Maui Waui and 2 Shiva Skunk in 5 gallon pots full of Coco/Perlite. Wish me luck fellow growers and thanks to all for their previous guidance.
Hey man, no it's not up yet. Been thinking I may have to return it due to some at HLG being total idiots. I am also only a week or 2 away from taking down the plant in my tent and it's under HPS, don't want to switch it's ligting at this point so close to harvest. It should go up soon for my next grow. I have been going back and forth with HLG, take a read through the thread. They are doing some really stupid things that I am not happy with. As for the code, the one she gave me was 10HLG600R, not sure if that was specific to me or not but it's worth a try. If no just email the HLG Canada contact and they will provide one, that's what I did.Nice choice. I saw the pics yesterday when you got it. You're stoked. Is it up yet?
Oh, and what's the HLG Canada discount code? A lot of people on here could use it.
