Why doens't everyone have an indoor raised bed?

I plan to grow organic and I have a 2x4 tent.
It seems to me that having a 2x4' raised bed inside the tent would give you by far the most root space and also lowest pot height (so you can use more tent space).
But people use pots for some reason.

Why is that? Raised beds seem so much smarter. Why isn't the whole indoor grow world just full of raised beds?

I think it's very logical except for space constraints.
Most folks growing indoor are running a few to 10 plants and doing so with limited grow room or using tents.

If you had a crawl space in the basement, or even a full room without limitations, your idea is solid gold in my opinion.

I'm sure others with far more experience will be along anytime

Because what works for one may not work well for another, A raised be would be pretty silly sitting under my ebb n flo system lol........ I 2nd defolation for increased yields, I usually remove material around the 2nd-3rd week and 5th-6th weeks of flowering ......

15 gal pots are hard enough to move around. But I can fit 2 15's, 2 3's, and some 1/2 gals in my 2x4 veg tent. Then I move them to my flower closet.

This way I can give the soil a little rest between rounds too. I have like 13 15 gal pots filled now, but only 4 have plants in them at the moment.

The raised beds are kinda cool as long as you don't plan on moving it.

Where’s the run off go? And how ya gonna get it out of a tent? Usually a lip at the bottom and the poles there so it couldn’t be slipped out from underneath.. I wouldn’t think so anyhow. I’m curious tho, because I’ve mentioned low profile wide pots before but up on a base maybe 12inches up with a tray under that can be shop-vac’d after feedings. Still looking into it, but I’m not a “very experienced” grower so I’m just staying in my lane lol

I always assumed because you don't want the roots mixing...Also different strains require different nutes... if you grow from seed and get a male, the dead roots after you cut it may cause an issue with the other plants. one plant may need more nutes than the other so 1 plant will suffer no matter what. You don't want what can affect 1 plant to affect them all. That being said some of my first grows ever over 15 years ago once i figured out cloning went into totes. 2 plants per 20 gallon tote. Only issues i had were nutrient related and affected both equally since they were the same strain. Finished out just fine but i guess its not worth the risk of 1 plant being able to affect the entire crop.....

I use a ShopVac to suck out any extra water from my trays. Here's a shot to give you an idea I took awhile ago.

It is kinda a bitch to get the 15's in and out. But I use a Pyrex glass pan or 2 to make it easier going over the pole. I just grabbed what I had. It helps a little. My pots are heavy as fuck too, because I have lava rock and pumice instead of perlite. Lava rock is heavy as shit. Pumice isn't light either, lol.

The solution is organic soil and gravity drip system. Dead roots aren't a problem in organic soil

Because you’ll grow big plants , unless you have a if big room with good ventilation and raised ceilings it would be possible really. I say really because you can do it but you would to manipulate your plants heavily.

mostly working with your plants.... what if they are growing unevenly and you need to turn them? What if they is a major pest issue and you need to isolate one? There is a reason even a ton of outdoor growers use pots.
