Jacks 321 vs Masterblend/Calnit/Epsom salt analysis

Not to my knowledge no, you wouldn't replace the Masterblend, but I think you make a very good point.

My first experience with Masterblend was peat/perlite/EWC/lime, the lime adds calcium so I think I serendipitously avoided calcium issues.

This year i added calmag complete and silica from TPS to my masterblend mix, and I now use slightly less masterblend as the calmag has N and trace minerals. good catch.

Nice thanks!

I might aswell ask since you've clearly ran more grows with masterblend then i have, what EC do you generally aim for?
About 1.6 in veg( I just checked tonight and it was 800 after a new reservoir) and its a little higher in flower as I up the mag and add liquid koolbloom. 1.8-1.9

Can you amend soil with these dry nutrients or are soil growers just mixing with water to feed?

I assume they are they too strong for amending soil?

What about top dressing?

i wouldn't top dress or amend the soil with these, if you have any runoff they'll get washed away as they are very water soluble, also if you mix them in their dry powder form they react with each other creating insoluble compounds, these are strictly for irrigation.

what do you mean 800?
and looking at the koolblood label it looks like a mix of MKP and epsom salt, i actually just ordered a bag of MKP powder a few days ago, cant wait for it to get here.

Different ratios of P/K.

Attachment in post #21 above has breakdowns for both.

im actually growing in DWC mostly so even though both companies say to 6.4-6.7 regarless of method i should be aiming at 5.8?
Ime with dwc...I nute my water(gh flora series/ Lucas formula, that usually drops my ph to 5.5, then it drifts up on its own as nutes are consumed.

See based on this we are told we should change things from veg to flower. I disagree. And this style of 'start to finish'(veg+bloom, masterblend, 321) nutes is making it more clear. I think veg+bloom may have been to first to market it. I'm sure I'm wrong. Lucas was a start to finish I believe too(and maxibloom).
I'll never go back
Npk+calnit+mag+silica=Done
Lucas is a start to finish formula. Even better using floranova bloom. Only 1 bottle to buy! It's a great formula for inexperienced beginners like myself, but I'm ready to move on from it and tailor my plants feedings.

In my dwc system, I make a solution using Lucas formula, it brings my ro water approximately to 5.5 ph, sometimes 5.6. Over the course of a couple days as nutrients are taken up by the plant, the ph rises up slowly. When it gets to 6.2, i do a res change. It's better to let it drift up to make more nutrients available through the ph ranges.

I use Masterblend, but here's a chart
Where did that chart come from? weeks 1 and 2 have the same amount of feed but one has a higher EC. What am I missing?
**edit**that chart is all over the place...
