hey guys. I already have a decent plant growing and some other small ones following along that are a little younger. I was wondering if I can just give them 12 hours of light or less once they all have at least the third node. I'm not really seeing signes of sex yet but figured I'd see what they capable off as this is just a little grow to see what I'm able to get away with

how big is that pot and what kind of light are you using? yes you can flip now but you will get a whole lot less than if you wait even a week longer. like maybe you can expect a few grams if you flip now. 2 weeks would be best.

also if you flip now before you see signs of sex you will be forcing it to flower early. this can stress the plants and cause herms. usually when you see people flower tiny plants they are clones that are already mature and ready to flower.

from seed its best to just wait but if you have to flip sooner the longer you wait the better.

the biggest one is only three weeks old since I germinated it. I can definatly grow and know the ins and outs. I'm just using an LED from lowes to be ho est and it's doing a lot better than I imagined it would

that will work for veg but its not going to do it justice for flower. can you take a pic of the label or if u still happen to have the box show us the light?

do you have a grow tent or is this just in a room?

what kind of soil are you using?

how many plants would you like to flower at once? if you give us an approximate square footage of your space we can help figure out some good cheap lighting that will at least get you a decent harvest.

the planter itself is big enough for sure. I'm also going to see what I can get away with with the smaller planters as well. this more or less me just testing the waters to see what I can and can't get away with. I'm mainly just trying to get the bigger one to show signs of sex so the I know if I need to press forward

I'm just letting them hang out around the house. I keep all my fans going and the light is a 2500 lumen 3k 20 watt. I was gonna get like two more in a different spectrum with more lumens

the closet is gonna be for flower. I've cleaned and bleached all the walls and swept it out already. I've just gotta throw that stuff out from the last tenant

I got a buddy that already has his own thing going on and I just got some soil from him but I'm pretty sure it's fox farms with some other organic nutes

without getting into the specifics, those bulbs only put out 100 lumens per watt at best. you can increase output if you can remove the plastic "bulb" off them (assuming they are led and not CFL).

quality leds put out 150-200 lumens per watt. using those figures we use about 30W per square foot to get a good yield. so that is like 120W to cover a 2x2 area.

using those bulbs you will need like 10 of them to get a good yield.

are you cool w trying a diy led strip build? have some basic tools? there are some killer deals going right now. you could build a nice little 100-120W light for under $50 and it will give you much better output. depending on your innovation and scrap parts pile you can maybe even do it for cheaper.

[/QUOyeah I can take the covers off the led. I though about that but wasn't sure. and I'm just going to buy more of the same led for veg. I'm trying get everything from lowes if I can. it's pretty cheap lighting as it is. I'm under the assumption that I can get what I need for at least my own personal gain for sure

I'm also a do it myself guy when it comes to anything that someone would get paid to do. so yeah I could 100% build my own setup. I'm gonna make a sealed ienvironment in the closet

I'm also trying to stay small scale if I can
all good I get it. theres a bunch of ppl doing similar style grows if you search. ive even seen some board type thing u can screw a whole bunch of those bulbs into.

here's the basics of what I was gonna suggest

10 of these would make a killer fixture. for $15 you can't beat it. you could even get away with 8. you would still need some other parts but these are great strips for 90% off. a few gens old but will still grow killer buds.

ok heres a question. do you have any old power supplies from an old laptop or printer? really anything that has a giant wall wart would do. ideally you would want either 12, 24, or 48V. but go look in the junk drawer and tell us what you find.

I feel like one more of the light I have will work for starting a veg cycle. as I'm not trying to go crazy. again this is more of a personal milestone to see what a good cure can make out a sub par setup in house. at this point I know what I want to do for veg. I just need to fi d something to flower with

also the power supply that is in the LED ballast has places where you can tap in safely. I'll post more photos later to show you. it's a little plastic clip that runs from the current itself and snaps over any wire withing 10-14 gauge wire. so if I buy some more LED pannels I can just tap into them. if needed I'll buy one more ballast like I have and have one pannel tapped into each.
