is miracle gro moisture control bad soil to use?

does anyone know if this is a bad soil to use? a fellow member told me i should get it so i did but then ive seen a few posts saying its bad sooo im not sure.

Try to steer away from MG. Try to find something that has no nutes at all...it's called soil-less, that way your controlling what it gets.

I am growing in MG but it is a hassle it was too acidic from day one, and bug-infested! I bought from two different stores and both bags were filled with these little white-winged bugs. they don't hurt anything ,but they are thruought my entire basement, now!

If the bagged soil your purchase is moist, you should always cut the bag by the length, spread the soil out, and allow it to try. Miracle Grow works just fine if you know what you are doing. I prefer hydro, tho, a soil less mix works great!

I use it and it is excellent stuff. Have used Miracle Grow for 16 years now without a single problem.

I am using that exact soil right now and everything is going well so far- plants look happy & healthy.
I did however find and kill one of those little wite winged fly thingies that
a previous post mentioned. Hope it does not become a problem.

i see a lot of successful grows using it. there may be better but if you have to use it i would think it could work fine.

the bugs are gnats use a fly paper theyll start to dissapear . im using mg soil and it hasnt burnt or hurt my plants in any way my hindu skunks look lovely. the issue people have with mg soil is they use fertilizer with it. dont it has fert in it . thats the thing if you like putting nutes and fert in your soil it will overfert

People who swear at it don't know about perlite. I'm sure they also add nutes to it as well. not too bright.

I tend to agree. I only use extra nutes after one month and only diluted ny half and mine are fine.

You also have to thoroughly soak them when you water them and then let them dry out before watering well once more because it will get cracks and shrink and the water will just run off it. Thats when you may get nute burn from lack of sufficent water or improper watering.

Most people water their plants to little too often.

someone told me that MG isn't fda approved and that it might be bad to smoke in the long run...but I see a few of you have used this stuff for years so I think I'm safe.

MG soil is fine if you know how to handle it.

Anyone that's had a problem with it probably, as others mentioned, used nutes with it.

I'm going to see if this "Feeds for 4 months" MG soil works. No nutes (besides for when I see micronute deficiencies) at all. I just transplanted my 7 inch plant into a wndow container with this MG soil along with a smaller plant. We will see how both a baby and teenage plant handle the soil straight up with just watering.

I don't plan on using it because I prefer hydroponics. There are people on here that seem to hate that stuff though. Other than the risk of nute burn I haven't heard any clear cut answers as to why they hate it so much.

yeah Ive heard people who used nutes w/MG thats why it's called miracle-gro though it has all ya need...it wont have any chemical effects on me though will it

As far as I know there's no difference between the nutrients added to MG and the other nutrients we add. I would flush the soil of nutrients by using only water for 2 weeks before harvest. I bought some Final Phase from Advanced Nutrients that I plan on using to flush this time too. I've only done one other grow but the first time my weed had a chemical taste to it although I did flush before harvest.

I'm using some MG moisture control that feeds the grow cycle for 2 months. I've had no problems at all. My plants are humongus. I guess the only problem is having to veg for two months. I was planning on doing so earlier but all is well.

I had a successful outdoor grow using the same Miracle Grow moisture control stuff. I had a 6' plant and a 5' plant. Scored about a 1/2 pound. Weed tasted fine and it was a great buzz.

Not bad, I'd say, for someone who had no clue what they were doing. It was my first attempt at a grow and was surprised at the size of the plants and the yield.

I bought a bag of MG Organic soil myself. Its 10-5-5 (NPK) Is that a bad choice?
