Summer's moving along nicely ... I've been able to keep the plant sizes manageable so far this year ... last year I just used horizontal trellis but this year I wrapped all the way around adding a vertical trellis (one side so far) and it's made a huge difference .... now I just need to manage the next six weeks or so of stretch

Looking mighty fine.

Is that Dutch White Clover growing beneath one of the plants?

I'm ready to start messing around with cover crops and companion plants. UPS just delivered some alfalfa and rye seed, was going to use that in some of my planting holes that are fallow this summer (removed males from the hemp garden and only using 3/6 in the MJ garden).

Also thinking about marigolds and other plants that repel whiteflies. I just had my first bout with those buggers--noticed them last night on a few hemp plants in fabric pots that were next to my wife's vegetable garden. Pretty sure they spread from something in the garden to my plants--no visible damage yet but when I shook the plants I saw a bunch fly out. Moved to another location and hit 'em hard with neem oil last night, not seeing more than 1 or 2 flies today. Hopefully dodged a bullet there.

Not sure if it's dutch, but it's white clover... i use it as a cover crop everywhere ... about october I spread winter rye and that'll be my cover through the winter

I've used marigold borders in the past around my veg gardens and it works ... also use neem on the outdoor ganj until about sept 1... that's when I'll switch off to Dr Zymes to knock back any mites and control molds throughout flower... over the next 6-8 weeks I'll also alternate between spinosad and BT treatments to take out any of the leaf eaters and bud worms

Dr. Zymes, huh? Never heard of it but just looked at their website and sounds intriguing. You actually spray it on the flower? Do you stop spraying buds a couple weeks before harvest?

I actually haven't sprayed anything until just last night when I saw those whiteflies. Probably was tempting fate. Will do weekly sprays from now on. Saw my first inchworm this morning while inspecting the hemp--might be time to think about some Bt. Although it was just 2 little cats I saw...

Can anyone tell me whether these critters are friend or foe, or neutral?

Haven't had to water anything in weeks. My plants look decent but we could definitely use some more sunshine, looks like it will start getting drier starting Tuesday. My tomato plants have definitely been stunted by this weather, nothing ripening yet.

Hey guys new to this forum or blog whatever you call it. Local mass grower. Had my fair share of indoor grows. But outdoors for me is heaven. Tossed my clones outside in 45 gallon fabric pots. 1 blueberry twist, 1 silverback jack. Planted them may 31st

Hey crew quick ? I've been told of a grow store in Hadley? that has a seed menu and sells beans. Its a bit of a drive,not crazy but can anyone confirm this or have any info. Thanks ,B.

I've heard that Hadley shop does some breeding or something, but don't know more than that. People have posted in the past about a shop in the Berkshires that has a small selection of beans. Just what I've seen posted.
