Ok fair enough I thought the same thing when I got it but its cheap I will switch it out with my cree lights i think until i het more GE grow light they r working well. I have decent light on them they look great. But I want more!!!!!

all you can do is work with what you have, but in the future you really need to invest in at least 100 true watts of quality LEDs (lm301 is a great diode) like a Quantum Board or strips. you will immediately understand how under lit your plants are under what you have. carry on and keep learning, it's an immensely rewarding endeavor.

All that matters is the ppfd coming from the lights...the plant doesn't care what it's coming from. For example I have 4x11w 4000k household globes here...it will put out 544umol/s at 12" of 4000k spectrum light.
That 544 umol/s of light is exactly the same as my 120w quantum board at 20"/80%. It will grow plants fine.

They have great drainage and healthy roots now..they once where not healthy...now they growing a good inch or 2 everynite...should I use 10 gal pots next time??

I have grow lights on them ge even spectrure Just want to put more on them with my extra bulbs but I want to know whats the best ones til I get more grow lights.

10 gal is overboard indoors. I've been consistently pulling 6-7 ounces per plant in 2-3gallon pots of peat mix, and they were autos with three-four weeks veg. Those are in 2x4 tents.
These were both 9.5L pots (2.5gal)

I Second five gal pots. A 3 gal pot is 25x20cm and a 5 gal pot is 30cmx25cm, which Is a negligible difference. Probably the best all round size.
I had roughly 3 gal pots and they required more watering than I would have liked.
The top one had six household 14w globes and a few 6w IR/UV/3000k bulbs underneath at different angles to boost bottom penetration, and the one in the bottom was a single plant, so there was a bit of room for a 20w led bar on each side about a foot up.
I don't know if I needed it, but it made me sleep better after this. Two autos in a 2x4, one in a 2 gal pot, one in a 3. There was zero light getting through the canopy. I stick to a single plant each tent now.

Just getting caught up on the thread,..
do your best with what you’ve got. If it’s another 2-3 weeks until you can afford a 100w quantum board or bar then just hold these in veg, spend some time doing some LST to train them lower with the added veg time, then flip once you get a light that will give you results you can be happy with in flower.
I know where ur at, easy to say ‘buy this, change that’ and it can be good advice bjt not always immediately useful when you don’t have a pile of cash to put up on a hobby.
I keep reading ur posts about PAR and lumens, andwhile these are valid measurements of light, focus on measuring PPFD and or DLI - a $3 app goes a loooooong way here. These are just more standard ways that growers measure light output in horticultural circles.

Also wanted to mention that the 36 hrs of darkness at flip isn’t a thing, I think there might be confusion with the suggestion from some to leave plants in darkness for two of three days at chop time - some say it causes the plants to give one last gasp of resin production.
This run I tried gradually reducing the daylight hours by an hour a day for a week or so - now onto 12/12 as of today, plants started throwing pistils about half way through, they seem to be stoked. The idea behind the gradual flip is to lessen the impact of what can be a stressful/demanding time for the plant. You can certainly just flip from veg light cycle to a 12/12 overnight though without issues.

Nice I have good lights on them now i was trying to decide if i should do 24 hrs dark to help kickstart the flowering. Its a real thing and most claim definate results ..im curious to try it. Have you done it urself ?? I did Do the gradual light flip cuz others here or you mentioned it before to mimick naturalight change. Over about a week. Did u notice a diffrence when u did this ? And do u think 24 hrs dark will hurt it ??
