Adding sugar during flowering

So I have read a couple opinion pieces on using sugar and believe the concept is feeding the soil as plants don’t take in sugar as well as molasses why are you adding it in last weeks of flower ?
What do you believe it does?
and can you cite scientific facts to prove your claim before every noob starts putting sugar in their grow?
TIA
I have done this with squash, pumpkins etc. It does work for gourds

What was that stuff people were using years back? Made your buds taste sweet is what they said. Pure nonsense.

Oy yeah, sucanat.

But to stay on topic … i used to add beer to my composting for the insta carbs and yeast. Honey is another simple sugar and has pathogenic properties .
Karo syrup was one i tried way back - to lazy to get molasses.

Just stayed away from the stupid “ flavor boosters “ in cartoon bottles … berry , pineapple and host of “ enhancers. Looking at you … Terpinator.

Sulpher bump is all you need and some UV to give triches a nice frost. And of course genetics.

Learned … why try to disguise the natural essence of the strain ?

I always dump the beers I fall asleep without finishing in my compost pile.

As for a sulfur bump you can get that with some epsom salts.

If you read the labels some of them are only magnesium sulfate aka epsom salt.
I got curious so I had to look up Bud Candy. I've never used any of that stuff, but it says it has a bunch of stuff. If you see one of the reviews it mentions how it's labels weird or something about labeling laws. I don't know.

I love the "proprietary fractionated resin" and "essential oil enhancing plant extract".
