Cause you're more bi-poler than me :p
And this is the proper place for someone who is BI-POLAR to come and chill, to get away from the world and share something that should bring us all together, but there are too many miserable people in here to be able to do that... But really, I'm not bi-polar, I'm just not here for the bullshit... I laugh and I joke, but I don't play... You're still my dude though!!!

I should be. Who else has been as cool with you like i have been? Seriously??? I know Swisha85 sent you some good genes and whatnot, but I'm always dicking around with you and checking in and shit when your gone and doing a few nice things for you. Next time try just asking me to lay off right now if you are getting poked at by someone else and getring it in.

Because an auto will flower under 24 hours of light... Or the standard 18/6. While a photo will be put under 12/12. This means that the auto has the potential to yield much more in the same time period because it can take in much more light. A photo in 12/12 for 9 weeks will receive 756 hours of light. An auto in 9 weeks will receive 1134 hours under 18/6 and 1512 hours under 24/0. That is a lot more light! At least 376 more hours. And 756 more hours if you go 24/0. The advantage of photos isn't necessarily quality... It's the ability to veg a plant longer to get a bigger yield. Or the ability to take clones. The ability to veg a plant longer if you mess up and stunt it's growth.

Why grow an auto plant if you can grow a photo 12/12 from day 1?

i get this all. I was being sarcastic to that clown, because if all he cared about was speed, why even bother with autos when he could 12/12 photos. My point was their main point is not being "fast" flowers, but "automatic flowering cycle" flowers.

Typical photoperiod guy. Not open to new things. I'm not saying autos are perfect or for everyone but if you are open to the benefits, they clearly have a place.

I like it cool. I am in Buffalo Ny. In the winter, my house is 62°f. Even when below 0° outside. Autos let me keep the lights on 24/0 and get some help heat wise and keep some grows going in the cold months where photos would be at a disadvantage. That fact alone makes them worth it to me.

I am south of you... I'm about halfway between Erie PA and Pittsburgh. And I am going to try growing under 20/4... But I am definitely open to growing under 24/0. My auto experience in the past has been outdoors, "not a fan" may try 1 more time but I'm pretty disgusted with our weather, and under 18/6.

So let's break this down even further. 376 hours broken down into 12 hour days of light is an extra 31.5 days of light. That's an extra 4 and a half weeks of flower time! And if you go 24/0 that would end up breaking down into an extra 9 weeks of flower time. If broken down into 12 hour days.
Add to that the fact that autos aren't as sensitive to light leaks or interrupted light periods and only a fool couldn't see the potential benefit of growing autos... Especially for a personal home grower.

I'm a firm believer you should grow what you like... What you are comfortable with. Autos have a lot of benefits but they also have drawbacks. If you screw up during the short veg cycle, you don't have an opportunity to fix it. And although they are way better genetics now than 10 years ago, but they still differ quite a bit from seed to seed.
Photos are more sensitive to light leaks or changes in light cycle. But... You can veg as long as you want or need... You can take clones for perfect and consistent crops. Breeding is also much easier with photos. Personally I like the idea of autos. If I can't manage to grow them well I will switch to photos. I kind of want to grow a combination of both.
The only fools are those who think their way is the only way and that anyone doing it differently is a fool.

Typically photoperiod guy.
I grew autos outside because they were fast and I could get 2 yields a season. I like autos.
Matt the retard didn't like that I considered them fast and I also said they were small and she really didn't like that and got sand in vagina along with pretty much every other auto growers on this thread and then came a precession of pics of autos that were all decent sizes but small compared to some photo plants.
Anyway it was fun while it lasted!!
