i’ll not buy another led until..

i’d be willing to pay 10-20% extra to cover the build and shipping costs of bigger heatsinks

Yep, In my case, it's not worth moving the drivers outside of the tent Even with 3x those 225's running full out, I'm staying in the 'comfy range' for my plants w/o AC.

For all the talk of extra cost of decent heat sinks, there are companies that do use decent hardware.
yeah my problem is not with a lack of companies producing decent cool running leds. my problem is with the situation where somehow low end designs with overdriven thermally under engineered and under designed products hitting and almost dominating the market and somehow people are ok with it. they say this fixture runs so cool etc. no it doesnt man. it runs fucking hot and thats gonna reduce the lifespan significantly. again i keep saying this but like if people stopped buying this shit maybe we can get rid of them just like we got rid of the blurples and offer quality even on the lower end of things and that may push the mid and higher tier manufacturers to up their game too.

No, I'm comparing electronic circuit to electronic circuit. No difference.
So just the same spec silicon, copper alloy, silver content in liquid solder and matching power units. Asking as to the fact that circuits are made by mechanical, vacuum tube and solid state. And you appear familiar with two.???

People want cheap. Cheap comes at a cost...and this is one of them. There is a choice though...don't buy the cheap one. I guess the proletariat could revolt and put the cheap-light bizniz out of bizniz, but the solution is for them to spend more for the quality project...and then they have to charge for it and everyone is back to step one.

they serve completely different purposes and there is a max amperage for a fuse or breaker box or whatever but you know what, they dont put 25 amp fuses on circuits that can take 25 amps max before bursting into flames.

ok but these lights are not that cheap either. i’m gonna guess mars makes more money per unit than many higher end companies probably.

But if they're not that cheap (aka not far from the more expensive ones), but there are negatives due to the cheapness, that seems like an easy choice. In the end, yes I'm sure the big importers are squeezing the lemon a bit more than the smaller companies, but that's the reality we live in. I gave my money to the better design and to the guys who probably make less off of selling them. They win, I win.

yes it seems like an easy choice but a choice is not easy when not presented with all the facts. before i saw the migro video for example i didnt even know at what temps a mars hydro heatsink was sitting at. i wouldnt know about the extremely fast degradation pointed out in that video from mars hydro specsheets (quoting 50000+ hrs lifespan) etc etc.

my choice is easy, i can balance my choice between the economical choice and the superior efficiency but especially for newbies and not technologically savy people these lights are being pushed and no one talks about these aspects of things afaik.

so i think what has been said in this thread should be said loudly so that companies are forced to offer not the cheapest product but a balanced product between economical and technical aspects of things and that newbies doesnt think that these lights are good lights they can use for 50000hrs+ etc etc.

I sold my Timbers to buy these. Only 2x2 per light. But dense shit if under 42". I ran 3 years. First owner did 4. Third owner is growing a nice girl. Just a simple case fan upgrade to Octua. And a cleaning. Still looking for an unclaimed skid in Asia or anywhere.
Around here you can play your music loud until 9 or 10 PM...After that they might take your shit!!! The Police that is...
I've been warned for both my neighbors music. I have yet to be caught. I'm rebellious. Not disrespectful. And it sucks picking things up after a few songs at 2000 watts, actually I've only gone to about 1400. It is005.jpg010.jpg

The amp itself will distort, whether the speakers can handle the load or not. It's just the nature of gain. Speakers will distort if you try to run more than their nominal power. The closer you get to max, the more the thd goes up.
Buy decks, amps, ect with a low THD like I do. Problem solved, :bigjoint:.

If I hook my amps up to cheap speakers, hell ya it's sound distorted. That is until the speakers blow,
