Guys this is worsening fast, I'm in coco perlite ebb air cube with 5 gal fabric pots.

Ppm is 1150 (550 of that's my water)
Ph been between 5.8 - 6.2
Water 70 degrees
Just flushed 3 days ago for the first time I was unaware about salt build up in coco I'm using Lotus nutrients I believe I was possibly locked out before flushing or def in multiple areas...

The only nutes I have in the system are Grow at 60 percent strength
Silica blast full strength
And extra hydrogaurd

I'm feeding every 4 hours
Lights have even 24 on Forever
I did have these signs before flushing I'd hoped they would go away but leaves are canoeing in the middle and tips
I have found a few catipillers on a separate plant been spraying neem oil diluted 1 teaspoon for 32 Oz water and 1 tsp dawn.

I've sprayed twice with sinosad and put some through my res this morning as I'm changing out res tonight

Any tips please my heartbreaking over here I don't want to fail this is my first grow they are between 5 - 6 weeks in veg from buying them as clones I'd like to get this problem solved and switch into flower in a week or 2 before they are too big for my tents I'm in 2 separate 4x4 tents I keep my dli and par in check I have elevated levels of co2

Perhaps I can mix some boost and foliar spray with that and make a worm compost tea for foliar tomorrow? I don't know what else to do thanks

No clue about that type of setup but I do know in Coco, both DTW and Hempy, I veg at 400ppm(Hannah scale) and flower 500-600ppm with no issues and completely green. If you're really feeding 1150 that seems high.

I'm only feeding with like 600 -700 ppm I have insane hard water at 530 I bought a cheap RO system I'm now in the middle emailing g the company my ppm is the same as tap like 530 and I only bought the system 2 months ago... I dunno I'm just a rookie fing up I appreciate any and all advice

Also .... I do plan on lowering the ppm since I'm feeding every 4 hours this was my first time filling the resivor up I've been hand feeding these their whole life yikes and I didn't understand coco till a week ago I was o lying watering when it would get dry .... like soil hence why I think I got locked out before the flush... here's pictures of them overall they are fading I'm going to lose them soon

Can give my 2cents, sure. Glad if any of it helps and I'll try to be straight-forward.

You have to do something about the water asap. Even use store bought mineral/RO water if you have to, until you get the filter system sorted out.

550ppm water, I'd cut the silica out entirely, you don't need it. And you have next to no idea what's in your water. I effectively use silica as a ph up.

You're not though, you're feeding at 1150ppm which is rather high. You must take into account your water.
I'd at least get it under 1000.

What do you mean "extra"? Extra than recommended could do more harm than good.

Pretty convinced it's your water, running that kind of setup.
Coco coir with a recirculating system is pretty ambitious for a first grow too. If there isn't a lot of perlite, I'd bet the coco is throwing a spanner in the works. Coco coir holds a lot of water.
Cycle the feeds down if you think you may have rot. I personally see no harm in changing to every six hours, even every eight.

I think it would be wise to put it down to 18/6 schedule, regardless of dli and ppfd. Plants are struggling and need the respite.
You may see some improvement just changing the light schedule alone.

Nothing wrong with a bit of ipm. Don't go crazy about it and keep a keen eye for any more. Assume your problems are mostly due to your water, until you get cleaner water sorted.

Advice in summary - get clean water asap, cycle feeds down if necessary, lower ppm to below 1000, change light schedule to 18/6, revise amount of hydroguard, cut silica entirely until clean water is sourced.

buy better water if you have to

and those things are nute burned to lockout. since you are in coco, you need to feed every few hours with a very light nute solution (like 200ppm) and they "might' recover. turn your lights intensity down too

Looks good. Pretty safe to bump ppm up a good bit since distilled. See no harm in starting at 400 or so. I'd leave the silica until you see things getting better.

I need to research how to fully clean the system because I knew there would still be water / feed left in the hoses that go to both tents, I had 200 roughly ppm (50g lotus grow) in 30 gallons distilled and when I tested the runoff it was same ph but 500 ppm I did leave the silica out, he'll almost left the Growth out for a day or 2.


I didn't realize quiet what I was getting myself into buying 2 of these set ups watched a video seen everything was all automated and seemed like wow that's easy but learning coco all I do is research all day long it's much more than I expected it too be, guess I never thought I'd get to week 5 - 6 so now that I have the expenses and costs too do so is just heartbreaking to watch it deteriorate.

I've been emailing with Frizzlife the maker of my RO system because I noticed they force you to attach a remineralization filter on the end, I got them to send me just a carbon filter for free, I'd hoped that would fix my tds issue but it remained the same, I guess this is what I get for buying a cheap RO system

Setup looks really good. If coco proves to be too difficult, use perlite, or perlite/vermiculite mix next-time, even clay balls. With a recirculating system I'd steer away from organic materials as your grow medium. For 1 they're not as sterile and they also have a direct effect on pH and EC because you're collecting the waste. Lots of tail-chasing.
Peat is better suited to a DTW setup. Generally holds a lot of water, which can be good, but it needs to properly drain. It's also better suited to a top feed system, so any excess salt is leached through and replaced with fresh nutrient.
I think you have a great setup. It's just better suited to different grow media.

I am in coco and perlite AND vermiculite I'm a rookie for sure, it seemed too me if I added both that it would be a little more forgiving on my learning how to water .... it's been a process Learning I have hand fed until a week ago I have more organic boxes of this and that laying around than you can imagine, I actually started organic so it was less likely I burn and kill them, I like doing tea's but like you pointed out I don't think this system was made for I greatly appreciate your advice, I grant you a extra ounce dried weight on your next harvest karma ain't always a B

Sorry to see/hear you might have mites. Try your best to identify them properly before throwing the kitchen sink at them. You've already implemented some ipm. I would positively identify spider mites yourself, before treating for them. Have a look at their stages online and try to find some. Mites can be difficult to identify from a photo.

@xtsho made a good point about applying neem oil and you've been on a 24hr light schedule.

I've already seen improvements, favorite part of waking up and looking at the ladies, it's for sure the 2 spotted mite family.
I only threw half the sink at them with 50/50 iso 70% / water with lights raised dimmed fullest setting put fans on the bushes to dry them faster and then 30 min later I went after them with habenaro diced and heated in water ..... ooooooh wee had my shirt off and over my hose and mouth ASAP I mean if it almost killed me I can onlying imagine 100 thousand times smaller all over their body I feel like the cops and someone yelling don't taze me bro bc I lit em up, hit each tent twice that was 2 hours ago no Ill affects from spray so far, dropped the lights actually Lower than before by 2 inches roughly raising my DLI however I'm going to feed every 3 hours and run my c02 generator while keeping a close eye for any ill affects, temperature is in check and threw another fan on them.

The real army arrives Wed. I knew I had a pest issue just thought it was pillers either way the 1500 lady bugs I got arriving will have a party 750 each tent

Try and alternate these pest sprays tomorrow Neem oil, Monday spinosad Tuesday habenero spray Wed the ladybugs in a mass of a army will finish the job (i hope) if not ill probably resprt to citric acid then if that fails give up , I did wonder why the 5 or 6 ladybugs I have currently always seemed so damn busy now I know
