My .303 is a 1942 USAF issue and the 7 shot clip is standard issue. No scope either but I can blow away a 10" pumpkin at 100yds with the flip-up iron sights so that's good enough. I have to get my PAL to even buy ammo for it since my FAC expired over 20 years ago. Still have about 30 rounds bu it's almost 40 years old. Fired one off at midnight on New Years Eve about 5 years ago and it still worked. If ya need any more than 5 rounds using a .303 and a scope to hunt with ya shouldn't be in the woods! It's the people in the streets hunting humans that's the concern, not those in the woods hunting for game. If it's not broke, don't fix it, if there is no problem, no problem, but obviously there is a problem. Smuggled handguns in from America cause more human deaths than all the hunters combined. It is helpful though if the lunatics were limited to killing 5 before running out of bullets, likewise, cocking and shooting slows things down, so semiauto anything needs restrictions
Got a 4x Bushnell on my Ruger 10-22 and a 25 shot clip for that but it's rim-fire so excluded. Stock clips and I have 2 of those are 10 shot. Got a muskrat in my dugout just a couple months ago with it. Nice clean head shot. Gave it to the dog and it was gone by morning.
