It's not being discussed by serious people so I don't know what to say about the "German Study". But I do agree with what I heard one person say in some discussion show. World hunger is a political problem.
One of the key planks in the platform is national food independence. I am having a devil of a time finding a list of food production per capita for all nations. (Perhaps frivolously) I am curious how Monaco and the Vatican fare.

Less frivolously, looking at Somalia, Singapore, the Marshalls and Iceland might be more on point: places with more people than developable food resources. Mali. Niger. Chad. Afghanistan.

Elon is a magat and boy, did he pick a wrong time to jump abord the Trumptanic, just as it's beginning its death plunge into the abyss. He is filling Twitter full of rightwing nut jobs just as Trump is about to be indicted and when he is on trial the volume of death threats will be overwhelming, even from his shrinking base. He will give the FBI a fulltime job running them all down. Donald should pop back up on Twitter as the heat of indictment grows, after he is indicted, the judge might censor Trump for Elon with a gag order though or even jail him on indictment.

fucking douchebag asshole idiot...he keeps throwing shit into the fan, but he's standing in front of it.....i hope he chokes on it.
i would love nothing better than for him to fail spectacularly, and for the government to step in, seize twitter, and run it as a nationalized platform...while never allowing him to even log in to it.

Elon is destroying twitter with his tweets and policies, there will be competition and the people who draw the eyeballs of normal people will vote with their feet. Then there is the EU and other international regulations, new and coming, just for Elon! Parlor has no advertising for a reason and Elon depends on Apple and Google to move its apps and provide eyeballs with sign ins.

I figure Elon is filling Twitter with the rightwing nut jobs that Trump figures he needs and has been desperately trying to attract. Donald might take Elon and the GOP down with him when Jack flushes him! What do you think will happen on a twitter full of nut jobs and the "libs" trolling them unmercifully during Donald's indictment and trial over the secret docs and obstruction? Hunter who?

There will be better than mastodon or it will be restructured for easier use as interest and possible investors show up. From what I've been reading it is not that difficult a platform to create and many see a niche opening up with Elon's folly. He paid too much to sell it so he will have to ride the smoking dragon into the ground and bail with bankruptcy like Trump. He is starting to look like Donald for some strange reason, Elon lost the struggle with his ego, and it got the better of him, if there was any better in him to begin with. The ego is suppose to be sort of the personal lawyer and PR agent of ourselves, not the dictator of our behavior, Elon is completely unmindful and therefore unwise.

Donald didn't have a "daddy complex" as some suggested, he's just a brain damaged asshole, Elon has an older brother who is the apple of his dad's eye and apparently for all of his material success, he doesn't have much use for Elon compared to his older brother, perhaps he knows him too well.

trump may not have had "daddy" issues, but his old man sure fucked him up...he raised him on a diet of gentrifying poor neighborhoods, letting buildings fall apart until tenants leave, then destroying them and building new apartments and businesses that bring in a lot more money, but fuck over all the people who used to live there...then they moved on to cheating the government, building cheap sub standard houses for returning GIs, and there were lessons along the way, how to transfer money without paying taxes on it, how to hide assets, who do you think taught him about raising and lowering the value of the same property for loan / tax purposes?...
this is about all i know of muck's dad...he made a few good decisions in the 70s and has managed to stay wealthy since then....one of his good decisions was to sell an airplane, and use the money to buy an interest in an emerald mine that paid off very well.

his dad, 76, also just got the step daughter that he raised from 4 years old, now 35, pregnant... their business i guess...:spew:

the people who raise you have a tremendous effect on your personality...looks like trump and muck were both handicapped out the door, but that's
not an excuse, others have become decent people with more to overcome.

Haters are going to hate. They are also going to deflect rather than discuss the topic at hand.

Musk was not CEO of Twitter when Twitter was censoring free speech. And Twitter was actively suppressing conservative speech. For example: we now know they specifically targeted information about the hunter Biden laptop before Joe Biden's election and even afterwards.

We also know the CEO testified before Congress in 2018 and denied any suppression. Which turns out he perjured himself before Congress. If one would argue he did not know that Twitter was actively suppressing free speech then I would suggest he was a poor CEO at best.

I am interested to see; as more of Twitter's past is unveiled, just how much the alphabet police had to do in this suppression.

While social media is not bound by the First Amendment. Based on the information released about Twitter's past, we see they have selectively targeted conservatives. I understand many liberals would agree with and do agree with the negation and suppression of free speech as evidence by the comments on this thread.

I don't use twitter, because I'm sure there's more haters there than in this political section on roll it up. I do although enjoy the idea that Free Speech should never be suppressed.
I agree; however disinformation = distortion of facts on purpose and should never be allowed or confused with free speech.

What the hell is this obsession with Hunter Biden's laptop? It's just ridiculous. Anything on that laptop is worthless anyway. There is no chain of custody. Who knows how many GOP hacks had their hands on it. That nonsense needs to just go away. It has nothing to do with Joe Biden and the 2020 election.

Twitter can selectively censor anything they want. And they didn't censor all tweets related to Hunter Biden but they did censor those that were posting pictures of his genitals.

I'm sick of this censorship talk over how social media entities delete posts or ban users. Free speech doesn't apply on those platforms so if you don't like how they're run don't use them. It's pretty simple. Start your own platform and make your own rules. Let people say whatever they want and spread whatever lies and conspiracies they want. Nobody is forced to use any of the platforms out there.

This is a moderated forum. Say really bad things and you can get censored and banned. There is nothing wrong with that either. Someone else pays for all of this and we're just guests. You can't go to someone's house and just do and say anything you want without expecting to get kicked out.

Twitter has a new owner and that owner is free to change the policies of twitter. If he decides to let all the conspiracy freaks run wild and post anything they want then that's his decision as well. People need to stop crying about these imaginary rights that don't exist. Go walk into a police station and start yelling obscenities and you'll find out that the First Amendment only goes so far and that you can't always say what you want. Free speech is not absolute.
Yes he may, but most like to live in reality per se. He'll be hard pressed for advertisers because those that don't live in reality may not use what the advertiser is selling.

The bottom line is that an adequate supply of food is a human right, and we must do all we can to ensure that no one goes to bed hungry, no matter what the cost.

Are you saying fat people who consume over the "adequate" amount of food should spit some out so skinny people can have it ?

Just how do you see this "right to food" working in practical terms?

Like with governments banning and burning books? The government always regulated radio, TV and telephone, if it uses radio waves in the air or over wires It's different than the press and private companies can censor who they wish, they are not the government and are not bound by the 1st amendment. Nobody broke the law. and nobody is going to jail from Twitter as some frothily rant about on the right. Hunter's laptop has been known for a long time on the right and nobody else is interested, no crimes were concerned there either and congress would be abusing its authority by investigating it. Ask the DOJ if there is anything of political relevance, they have all the facts and evidence. If there is an FBI investigation ongoing, then they should not interfere in it, pretty simple.

There will be lots of breaking news in 2023 as Donald and his cronies go to Prison, Russia goes down to defeat and perhaps Vlad goes out a window in Moscow. Hunter is non news compared to the shit storm that is about to break in 2023. Congress will be investigating Hunter and Jack will be investigating them over J6, at least the ones on the pardon list and there goes the majority if he indicts them. Kevin might not mind either, getting rid of the pain in the asses.

If you're living in reality you're not spending time on Twitter reading the political tweets nor do you care about the content of those tweets.

I asked, what I thought, was a serious question of which I heard crickets. From what I’ve read (not much) it would seem there is a lot of cherry picked releases and there seems to be mostly bullshitters and nut jobs that were “censored”. You feel that promoting lies and harmful content should not be censored?
