Kevin's House?

it CANT be allowed to be a factor....he CANNOT use political activity as a motivating factor...that INVALIDATES everything he might do.
the republicans have been screaming about the DOJ being weaponized against them, jordan wants to investigate the FBI because he says they've been weaponized against the republican party by the Biden administration...so Smith CANNOT be visibly politically motivated in ANY WAY...he must be impartial, politically. MUST BE.
the only relevant way he can examine or use political activity is if it is inextricably intertwined with the crime he is prosecuting them for, and then he has to be careful and make it clear that the crime is his focus, and not it's political results.
the republicans will be trashing wildly, looking for a way out, and for smith to even hint at political bias would open a fucking freeway off ramp of away out.
Jack ain't gonna hold meetings over it! Or even discuss it with Garland or his staff, but he makes prosecutorial decisions based on evidence and other factors. WTF has there been a two year delay in prosecuting Trump and his minions, if not for political considerations? Sure Garland is covered by going from the bottom to the top, but seriously? We saw what the J6 committee uncovered and the DOJ could uncover much more with their powers. J6 is a massive investigation of a massive multipronged conspiracy to overthrow the constitution and government of the USA and it will take until 2024 to bring most of them to trial. However, once they get one or two pleading guilty to conspiracy and testifying the others are pretty well fucked, all they need is leverage and there are plenty of levers laying around.

I find it very disturbing that the democrats on this thread are hoping for a failed congress. I hope they succeed in passing meaningful legislation. I hope the partisanship that has been in politics in our country would be put aside and for once both sides would come together and pass legislation that actually helps the American people. I feel this way because if the Congress fails then we as citizens lose.

Like I said yesterday, give them enough rope to hang themselves. The American people are finally starting to see through the bullshit.
We hope, they are already a minority who need to cheat and resort to violence to win, but they have rigged the election system to their advantage with gerrymandering, if not for gerrymandering there would probably be no republican majority in the house. However if they continue to fuck up and especially if they start getting indicted and convicted over J6, it could break the back of fascism in America. Trump will go down first over the documents and that will be quite a show, because he will try to call on magat support. If Jack does not oppose his conditional release upon indictment, it means serious trouble for the republicans as Trump squeezes their nuts as hard as he can while panicking and freaking out in desperation.

Have you seen their agenda? They aren’t interested in governing.

Let's say Jack nails a half dozen of them before fall? Before they can fuck with the debt ceiling or stop the government? What if he thinks it's an imperative? Let's see what happens when Donald goes down over the docs, that's first up IMHO, unless Georgia does him first and I'm sure they are cooperating on it. He will be tried in Georgia though, that's on TV and will have the biggest impact on the country. Let's see what the GOP house has to say about those coming events and the fallout from them.
There may be a few criminal prosecutions for things like perjury, etc... There will be no mass arrests or criminal trials for any of the maga's in the GOP. The only people going to prison are those that physically took part in storming the Capitol. The proud boys, oath keepers, etc... Those that spread the lie are now the majority in the House and that's not likely to change until the next election unless for some unforeseen circumstances the GOP loses enough members between now and 2024 to lose the majority.

You are ignoring the traitors, criminals and assholes they have to deal with. These clowns will do no good except by their self destruction in public. Joe Nancy and Mitch took the car keys away and fucked them even before they got to the start line and will limit the damage they do until fall, by which time Jack may solve some problems for them with J6 conspiracy indictments.

The adults already took care of the government while these assholes go down in flames over the coming months.

I guess it all depends on what Mark has to say for many of them, after he cuts a deal and pleads guilty to conspiracy. When they cut a deal with Jack they have to confess ALL their crimes and any crimes by others that they have knowledge of. Once one or two plead guilty or cut deals, the rest are screwed, especially if there are receipts and there are. Jack just brought on two prosecutors who specialize in prosecuting politicians and it looks like he's going in that direction to many legal pundits.

The soothsayer speaks again.

I hope if you’re ever wrong it’s about this.

It is this attitude that is prevalent in politics these days and all both sides want to do is stymie the other side and then point the finger and say they got nothing done. It is nothing but pure partisan politics and me as an American citizen am sick and tired of it.

we don't have to hope for it...they're guaranteeing it.
and to be honest, a failed congress is the safest thing that could happen to the country for the next two years, because if the republicans are successful in their goals, that means they will have covered their guilty as fuck asses about Jan 6th, it means they will have wasted millions of taxpayer money on investigations that went nowhere, it means that they will have succeeded in slashing all the public assistance they could lay their filthy hands on, and it means they will have succeeded in cutting finding to Ukraine...
i WANT them to fucking fail spectacularly, blazingly, publicly...since those are their stated goals.
they have NO meaningful legislation to pass, only shit to cover their own asses, and shit to fuck over those who need help the most...which is their entire agenda.

J6 must be settled before the country can move forward, there must be an accounting and punishment for treason against the constitution. Remember Judges hear cases if there is one and juries decide guilt or innocence, they can squeal all they want, but those are the cold hard facts they are up against. Alternative realities don't work in court, evidence does though.

One side has to win and the other lose, just like in the civil war and the same side is losing again, this time for the last time.

I agree. I touched on this yesterday. I believe it’s also politically prudent for the Democrats to help this congress pass meaningful legislation.

While I have the same sentiment, laughing, pointing and bringing in popcorn wasn’t a good look for the Democrats.

A few? You've not been paying attention. Shall we start with the Congressional Pardon list?

Maybe they showed the respect they deserved? Ridicule the ridiculous I say.

They might also know something the republicans don't realize, that since the DOJ got the J6 report and transcripts their focus has shifted to government and elected officials. Jack just recently brought on two prosecutors specializing in busting politicians and the legal pundits are talking, maybe Mark is too?
