"Come on kids, let's go. We are going to visit a war zone, play in the sand on the beach and then get some ice cream."
It might end up being quite an adventure getting home, if Ukraine breaks through or brings the road under fire control. It's just what the Russians need, the roads behind their lines jammed with refugee traffic consuming gas and their men melting away into the mob of tourists heading for Russia.

The road bridge is down and there is the ferry and overland route through a war zone, next up the rail bridge at Kerch while trying to get to the sea of Azov to cut the Russians off in the southwest. If the Ukrainians could drive a bridgehead across the Dnieper at Kherson it could trap those Russians in the south of the country, including the ones at the nuclear power plant.

The ferry is probably not a strategic target like the bridge is. I'm guessing Ukraine will let Russian civilians leave occupied Crimea unharmed. After the wait those civilians in line underwent, they won't be back. Maybe after the war is over they might come back as tourists. Ukraine won't mind taking their money.

Getting as many Russians out of the place as possible is a good thing and will help to win a referendum and the peace. However, if the ferry is making return trips with supplies and troops, then for sure. Drowning hundreds of civilians is bad PR, bad in general and bad for morale in the end.
