In the USAF it was sending an airman out for a bucket of prop wash, or 20 yards of flight line. We had an Airman come back with some of the rope from a restricted area (it's red) we hid that really quick.
Yeah, prop wash, shore line, keys to Davy Jones locker, wrap em up in tin foil on the foc'sle (for all to see) to calibrate the radar, etc. . .
Pretty sure it's called "Hazing" now.

Please don't think you can 100% count on your cell phone to reliably work or call for help when you're out there.

Murphy's Law
If something can go bad, it will do so in a hurry. If it can't possibly go bad, it will still find a way.
If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.
Mother Nature is a bitch and will always side with the hidden flaw.

Car show and Blues music for 4 hours in the park today.

This gem caught my eye. Innocent enough looking on the outside, but under the hood is something else. It's a Charger 392 SRT - engine swap to a 426 Hemi with a supercharger - 20lbs boost - producing over 1100hp. Gets about 5mpg. 147mph top speed on 1/4 mile track - 10 second car. Whistles/whines in the front and growls in the back when idling. Roars when rpms go up.

I’m going camping tomorrow with wife baby and dog. In a tent, it’s a heat wave+35c and wildfire smoke so thick you can’t see. Getting ashes falling from sky. And a fire ban. And im only going to bring 1 joint of the fresh harvest and see how it goes raw dogging it.

That's too bad, air quality burns eyes and throat after a while.
Even makes the coffeee taste like burnt pine after huffing it all night.

Got a new day pack, bit more room for colder weather gear and much better back support, lighter.
Foul weather pocket on the bottom for rain cover, jacket, mini umberella, trash bag. Pocket on the top for keys and dope.

Camp kitchen and dry goods are packed. Still have to get vacuum pack bacon, block cheese, fresh fruit & salad.
Probably going to substitute fried rice and bring that instead of the freeze dried, have hamburgers the first night.

The starkist is something I've just got and haven't tried yet. They have meals with rice and beans and such.
