Good luck . WTF happened? Not in my wildest dreams could you all have found your way to this place after everything “they” said! Clinched my not getting a pardon as I have no desire to visit south of the border :(.
PS I do miss Cracker Barrel though :(

naw Lemon i don't think that's it...js
I think he's onto something. She didn't lay out much of a policy platform, she spouted word salad when asked serious questions about foreign policy and domestic issues, refused to address issues important to Americans like healthcare, taxes, wages or inflation...

In short, her campaign strategy was to say as little as possible while her supporters screamed,"but TRUUUUUUMP!!!" at everyone who questioned her. Her enthusiastic acceptance of endorsements from the likes of Dick and Liz Cheney didn't help.

Finally, she was the anointed candidate; no one voted for her nomination, so no one felt like she was "their" candidate.

Democratic turnout was down roughly 20% from 2020, which tells me the campaign strategy was anything but inspiring.

Republican turnout was also marginally down, so I think those voters just stayed home.

Folks didn't vote for third parties, either; all of them put together added up to less than 2%.

Apathy, learned helplessness, no sense that she cared about her constituents. That's my conclusion.

Must suck to have a felony.
Yes it does. It sucks worse when it's for a victimless non crime (growing in a rec legal state) and you're convicted of helping people- people with cancer, FFS.

It pretty much ruins your faith in justice and your trust in government, nevermind law "enforcement."

America has been a Fascist State for a lot longer than we frogs in the boiling pot realize.

Toyota has been manufacturing in the US since 1986. Can you link to bring some explanation of "Trump put tariffs and guess why happened…… ready…. Prices went down."?

Edit: Guess that request was pointless, lol. Facts always get in the way, eh?
And Toyota is Japanese but to some all asians look the same in business and person.

Responding to the other guy here.

there was a really good post on why shes missing the majority of younger voters who didnt show up and it was due to her stance on the genocide in gaza
I firmly believe it was because a lot of people, including female democrats, are reluctant to vote for a woman to be president. Centuries of patriarchal brainwashing goes deep. With the enthusiasm seen at all of Kamala'a rallies the vote count should have been as high or higher than the total for 2020 but I'd bet real money that a lot stayed home rather than vote for either.

The Gaza thing for sure but mostly in the younger voters. Now he's doing it to Lebanon as well. If he isn't held accountable for war crimes then what's the use.

Prophesy holds that Armageddon begins in the middle east then spreads to engulf us all. But tRump says he'll fix it on day one so nothing to worry about there.

Living way up north in Bumf**k, Alberta is looking better all the time. lol

Welp, that's it for me on this site, folks. Until the next national crisis, and I feel the need to talk and read what a good cross-section of internet society are saying. Thanks for the honest dialogue from everybody.

love you all, I just think the conversation is better here when I don't post. Not dishing on the mods, they are doing fine. I don't want to follow the rules as they are enforced here, so, I'm out.
Will miss you dude. Plenty of places on the interweb to bash it out with trolls so I don't mind keeping my jets cool in here. Cut my trollish teeth battling trolls on USENET back in the day before all this. Still have access to all that but rarely visit. Need to get back in there and download all the music albums I have in my collection then sell the near new LPs for real money. Used to record them to TDK 90 min cassettes and put them away in vinyl sleeves.

Take care out there.

(even though Trumps felony’s were just political warfare and don’t actually matter)
Fraud doesn't matter? Inciting a coup attempt doesn't matter? Stealing and distributing classified documents doesn't matter?

Maybe on your planet it doesn't matter but the one I've been living on for 70 years takes a very dim view of such things and it damn well matters a lot.

Integrity matters. Honesty matters. Respect matters. Fair play matters. Values that tRump and his minions tossed out long ago for power and wealth above all things.

That stuff matters to anyone with a shred of decency.

I think this is part true. More than "wont vote for a woman" which is likely more an issue on the other side, reps considering crossing over the line, id wager "wont vote for a woman just cause shes a woman and its their turn now".
I see so many confused talking heads on TV uttery in complete cognitive dissonance on why their perfect candidate didnt win. Then you need to reconsider your ideals of perfection. Did voters think that she, being part of the biden administration, had really achieved anything for them? Enough that a process of anointment would suffice? In a very real scenario where people connect to real measurable achievements rather than what seems to have been viewed as a nepo baby?
Biden should have stepped down way earlier for a normal primary process and if Kamala really was next in line ahe should have gotten something juicy in the admin that she could work and have ownership of. It doesnt seem like she was perceived as someone in place due to what shes done but rather who she was. I think meritocracy is a winning concept in the next cycles, but lets also remember that it needs to be perceived as such by general public. Or at least you need to be perceived as able to change things up more than the incumbent.

These are just my ideas, not to be taken as an insult or in any way support for the actual result.

Well, I'm a bit excited. Trump will end all wars in the world in a day, get rid of all income taxes. Grocery prices will get cut in half, what - tomorrow? What else - balanced budget! No more waste in government. Get rid of several million people (kinda crowded). What could go wrong? Let's get started!!! What do we do first? How do we accomplish it? Anyone know...........?
I'm sure he has a concept of a plan for all those problems so should all be taken care of in his first 100 days or sooner without a doubt. rotflmao.gif
