Different strains in the AG?

wanted to gather some opinions on growing two different strains in the AG. I have a blue cheese fem seed thats sprouting right now with another that totally fizzled out on the sprout up....kind of weird. I was thinking of putting either a northern lights fem or durban poison fem in there with my already baby blue cheese sprout. Is this a good idea or not? suggestions?

the pic below is one of my fizzled out blue cheese sprouts that i have rested on a bobby pin b/c it cant support itself.....im thinking it has something to do with fem genetics

looks like the light is up to high for the plant to strech that far or you dont have a fan blowing near the plant to trick it into growing a stronger stem to suport it self.

give it a try

Yes u can grow different strains in the same system if thats the question...... The main thing ur going to have a problem with is ur strain pix.... N.l is going to grow much taller than the poison most deffinetely, As long as u get creative with ur lights during flower u shouldnt have any problems with that. Heres a pic of some durban and an n.l cross in the same bucket. The n.l ended up trippling the size of the poison at harvest...

Good luck bro...Also get ur lights an inch or so above the top of the seedling...Its stretching way to hard and putting stress on that thing...this will force it to start compact and bushy. I take it ur using cfls right?

Durbans on the left....

yea i tried to use a ag and didnt have to good of luck. I had the basic tho. which one are u using? I kno u cant get the lights closer then like 6 inches in those things. In the pic it looks like that whole white part (root) needs to be in the water and the green part (plant) is wat needs to be getting light. Also i usualy remove that little shell coating at the tip of the leaves so that it can open easier and start photosynthesis.

Hey bro the rule of thumb is to keep ur light as close as possible to the tops of ur plants without burning them no matter what grow method or lights system ur using....
Meaning put ur hand directly above the tops of ur plants and lower ur light until it starts to get hot.... CFLS should be kept as close as possible...

I use dwc bro...Once setup it takes care of itself..

Heres a thread for dwc

Thanks for the responses everyone...what has happened is the root wasnt finding its way down the sponge into the res (though i do have the sponges cut in half vertically). so i repositioned the root in the sponge. this is how it looks now. the root was still growing being exposed and all. She just wants to grow. a minute after repositioning, the first little leaf popped open...so i think i solved the problem. And I did move the light down a little more. And yes i am growing with CFLs though those will prob. come later....just using the AG hood lights as of right now

Everything u have explained are natural occurences that happen to seedling in peat spongues...(plugs)...The more u play with those plugs u r stessing out the babies and really opening urself up to damaging ur tap root if u already havent....

Once in the plug U must allow that seedling to grow its taproot (it will finds it way trust me) into the water and food source...

Bro honestly check out my dwc for beginners thread, dwc or a/g ive explained the exact process u must follow if you skim thru its all about this stage of ur plants life...Root structure growth!

Here it is bro:
Hey leggo heres something i thought id put together for ya just cuz i had 3 seedlings already started in some plugs that today just turned 6 days old.
Germed for about a day and a half in a paper towl inside a cup with a half inch of water in the bottom at all times.
Took my jiffy plugs and squeezed them out in a simple bowl of tap water until soaking wet. Before i put the seedling in i squeeze out any excess water but its still damp.
Then i just drop the germed seed into the whole on top of the plug taproot down.It will seat itself in the plug. Then i put those right on top of my clone bucket under the cfls.
As you will see i should have checked the plugs yesterday cuz they should be in the bubbler by now.
When i transplant these into the bucket im putting them all 3 into a 5 inch net pot with 2 inches of hydroton in the bottom of it. Ill put the plugs in and cover the rest of the way with hydroton.
Next i put this net pot in the bucket with my water level 1/2 below the bottom of the bucket. Then i forget about them! I dont even put nuts in the water till the roots start hitting it!
Get these plugs bro!

Hey ive included a couple pics of some clones in a bucket. They were just like urs for a few days while building root structure. But a week and a half later are getting to big for my clone area and in another week will be going into flower! have patience bro. check out the roots in a week and a half!

Hey heres a post i placed in another thread giving step by step instructions on germing and transplanting with a few pictures.

Thought it would be more helpfull here.

Yea bro..... Ive got a couple sick azz m/h but currently im usings 6K cfls to veg my plants...You honestly can keep and should keep them as close as possible to keep ur plants short and stout...Blue spectrum for veg.... Red (hps) for flower...

Halide is the best for vegging but my veg spot heats up to much just stacked a bunch of lower watt cfls...works awesome...

Check out a couple clones i just put in flower..... only about 3 weeks total veg time in dwc...This is what i mean about short and stout but in flower they get bushy as hell....

By the way bro that is all of the most latest and greatest info passed on down by the pros on here, Long as you do exactly what these guys put out ur going to have jungles on ur hands!

I top all my plants bro (directly above the 6th node about 6-7 inches and continue vegging to a foot)and 99 percent of the time I clone them.........
Check out my current grow dude I just took 2 stem top cuttings off of a previuosly cloned plant top ( actual stalk top ). Doing the simple water in a cup technique...

Just scroll back in the thread a couple pages and check out the cloneing technique....

dude that is awesome. mmmm the pink hairs lookin sooooo good..nice and frosty too!!youve been a great help man. thank you! this is my third go for the AG. the first time i was just f ing around with bag seed and didnt really take it all that seriously. The second time i took it more seriously but still with other good bag seed. The germination rates sucked. Something like 3 out of 11. I got 2 of those 3 movin but they both ended up being male. WTF... so i ended up purchasing seeds for the genetics. Right now i got 2 fem blue cheese goin. After fixing the root issue this afternoon both of my little ones are doing great. check em out. the first pic was the one i was originally having problems with....look at her now a few hours later. i got 24 hour light goin on em now. I think im gonna switch that over to 18/6 tomorrow. what do you say?

They look like all my seedlings first do in the plugs at that stage bro.... I keep mine alot less moist to start out with... Ive found that the less moist u keep the plug the more tap root growth and quicker u will get roots in the water...Matter of fact at this stage overwatering can stunt growth.... U dont want them that wet... If u can shield the water tips from the bottom of those plugs a lil i would.....

I think ur strain is going to be sick just cuz thats what the name suggests lol

Looks like they will be fine tho.... I have found that once u get ur system down to where its up and fully running without the most possible interference to the seedlings(plants ) the better Ur female to male ratio....My current grow I got 5 of 6 females.

Looking good dude im actually surprised u didnt murder um messing with the plug lol, The (white fuzz) @ the bottom of the stalk of the seedling in ur pic is actual root/beneficial bacteria growth which is vital to this stage and obviously any interruption at this point could mean disaster...

The best lesson ive learned so far is not to over care for my plants...Hydro is controlled with all the elements on point...Kinda grows itself!

My grow cannot be compared to your grow. The actual size of the room u flower in depends on what type of ventilation and cool air circulation u need. What size is ur flower room. Not the area u grow under.
