How am I doing?

Wow! what the hell! The ph water from my basement is 7.6 and the water filtered is 7.96! Surely this could be cause of the slow growth? Guess I'll be getting some lemons.
Also, two of the plants are starting to get bigger, but the two stretched plants are growing slowly but surely. I'll get pics soon.

So do you guys have any good ways to lower ph other then ph down. My tap water was like 7.3 I think yesterday when I tested it. I'm gonna test some more today that I let sit out over night to see if breathing it made any differance in the ph.

If you have the availability to get pH down from a hydro shop, you'll save a lot of money in the long run, lemon juice isn't nearly as concentrated as pH down... There are other acidic liquids you could use but pH down is the cheapest solution...

Some aren't as concentrated as others, Advanced Nutrients pH up/down are the most concentrated of the all, technaflora is the cheapest, but the least concentrated, GH is the median... All cost about the same for the strength, and how much you need to use.

Is it better to have liquid or dry ph adjuster, or does it matter?
Do you guys think that this could be why my plants grow sooo slow?
Thanks

If you use a decent liquid nute it should usually bring the ph to a good level.
I am English and i am pretty sure that you cant buy my nutes where you are.:leaf:

I like to use the liquid pH adjusters...

The ideal pH for hydro is 5.8, for soil 6.2...

And yeah, most quality fertilizers bring down the pH due to the acidity of the ingredients.

I don't think that the pH was the only problem, the early feeding and watering regiment most likely was the culprit, but once they start to grow they won't be as vulnerable to stress...

I cant remember exactly where i heard it but i think that lemon juice doesn't work properly.
Something to do with it only bringing the ph level down for a short time.
I haven't a clue if its actually true though.
I bought that big bottle for 5 quid(10 dollars)cheaper and easier than buying lemons, lol:weed:

I'm pretty sure that the main ingredient in most pH down is citric acid, there's a more scientific name for it that I can't think of...

I just read the wiki article on citric acid... Good read.

The production process seems interesting, to say the least... Wonder why it mostly all comes from China...

It might be interesting to figure out if the brix levels in the citric acid effect the taste of the final product... It might have some of the sweet characteristics of citric acid.

Also citric acid is a well known and widely used preservative... Wonder if that does anything.

Another thing, citric acid is a naturally occuring substance that is produced and used in the metabolism process of every living thing, so, why is the production process involve such harsh chemicals?

You have citric acid in your stomach right now...

Makes me think...

Why not just puke in your resevoir to adjust the pH down? :spew:

It should work...?

I'm just being silly.

Havn't you heard, growing pot isn't actually any cheaper then buying it, you just get better tasting, better smoking weed. lol, no not really, but it seems like it some times till you get that harvest.
