its not the dogs, pitts rotties, dobies, shepherds, whatever... it is the owner..
the reason why there are more pitt and rottie attacks is because they are a stronger willed dog and have an alpha male mentality... chihuahuas, poodles, shit like that dont..
it is in their genes.. however, with proper socialization to people and other dogs, and with a strong willed owner who knows the needs of the dog, and how to train them, there is never a problem..
the problem is that the owners try to treat them like marshmallow dogs, and do not subdue that genetic predisposition to be aggressive, by proper training, excessive, and socialization.
the other problem is that because of their reputation, you get the wrong kind of people, who shouldnt have a dog period trying to be owners.. these are gangster wannabies and insecure people, who want the dog as something to boister their confidence and outer appearance.. they dont know how to train the dogs, beat them, abuse them, and while other breeds may become docile and scared of people, they lash out..
even wolfhounds can be tamed with proper care and training, but if a dog is not socialized to people and other dogs, and/ or is abused and mistreated, they will go back to their natural alpha male agressive behavior and kill and maime people..
i love pits, i love rotties, i love all dogs, and i know for a fact that if you take a pit, or any other agressive breed, and put it in the right hands, it will never lash out at humans, because it is taught to love humans.
so i go back to my original statement, it has nothing to do with the dog, it has everything to do with the owner.
