How's your girl?
Been doing some thinking and making some changes to my case in the hope I can get a spider in there. I've added another exhaust right at the top rear of the case and temps are very controllable now. I'll need to see how it holds up in the summer but I'm feeling positive.
I'm on the lookout for some cake stands to prop up the plants as this will give the spider some room to move around and also a place to find shade. Currently I'm just using cd cases but this wouldn't be any good.
As I can keep the case at the same humidity as the room it's in now, I'm not far off the correct levels but they are still a bit on the low side for an arachnid. During darkness the plants raise the level up into the 70's by themselves, but with the lights on I can't get much above 50% and I wouldn't put a spider in there unless I'm certain conditions are ideal for it.
I'll let you know if I come up with any more mods or ideas.

doesnt it still have fangs? i feel retarded for asking but im pretty sure the spider i used to have was supposed to be able to bite but i think it had to fangs/way to bite or whatever

hey v12, Querkle is doing great. going to get some crickets for her now. hey your not planning on using a pc case for the spider are u? what do you have on the floor of your setup? my humitidty levels are most of the time 56% lowest to 75% it takes quite a bit of spraying to get levels up

Yes I was looking at putting one in with the grow. The floor of the case has some thermal silver bubblewrap stuff.
Think the pc case is a no no?

im sure it could survive in there but thats not the right type of environment especially for a red knee like you said you wanted. that species is terrestrial and needs floor space it also needs a few inches of substrate such as dirt/ peatmoss because it will burrow into the ground. an old aquarium tank is ideal it only needs to be 5-10 gallon.

yea ive picked it up check out the pictures on page 6. yes its venomous but it is not an aggresive species. so its rare that it would bite unless you hurt it or something.
