This fine young lady is only 18 days old, and went into 12/12 five days ago. It was on 24/0 up until that point. The soil is fox farm ocean forest. I transplanted it for a few days into a soil mix up with some light organic nutes, but after a few days it started to look sick so i put it back in the plain ff soil.
The bottom leaves are worrying me, is the plant too bushy? Ive heard u can stunt a plants growth to a point that is unhealthy, as now the lowest leaves are already not getting as much light as they should because they are covered up.

You shocked it bro.

Next time plant it in a big pot up to the first set of leaves, flush it, and then continue light.

What lights are you using? That plant is not nearly ready for 12/ 12.

your plant is in the seedling stage till it hits a month old basicaly. it will have 5 or 6 sets of large sun collecting fan leafs before it even needs food, or can tollerate it for that matter. you nutrient burned your baby. you need to put it into plain old seed starter soil with nothing but water when it dries out. go get a jiffy pot and put it in that. you can get it at home depot . it comes with a cool tablet that wheen hot water is added puffs out and fills the pot with dirt. its perfect. and also there is no such thing as too bushy. the bushier the better. the more branches the more bud spots. the bushier the plant the more branches. you need to get that thing into nuetral soil and water it to clean it out then let it grow in the seed starter soil
i havnt even started giving this plant nutes yet. tommorow its getting its first dose of fox farm grow big

NO WAY, at 18 days it should not need any kind of stress training!

You are doing something wrong and there is no way in hell anymore stress will help it out.

My plants are at 20 days:

Not too too farther ahead than yours.

Your plants look like they are 2 weeks ahead of his dude...and yours have a way more natural growth pattern...nice job!

How do these look for 1 week under 12/12 lights. Do these look female? Anyone?

Jordisgarden, I would suggest you cut the lower branches and leaves of that plant and that will create better growth to the rest of the plant which will mean thicker colas.

Thanks bro!

Are you a Chef? I am also a Chef, I did the whole Le Cordon Bleu culinary thing and loved it. Unfortunetaly I am screwed because of the economy right now.

Anyway I would say your plants look like they are leaning towards female but still a bit too early to tell.

get rid of the bottom branches and fans? that sounds like a good idea. i did the same on another plant i have and its doing great, but what if i planned on topping it in a week anyway?
the plant in the orange bucket was topped a couple times now. and the one in the blue bucket had its bottom first fan, first branch, then second fan leafs removed. so far so good. i just put them under 500 watts hps to flower. the blue just showed female today.
the other pic is one thats on day 20 or so and it was topped a couple times also

Yeah but your plants were much bigger and healthier than this guys.

Would you really want to do that at 3 weeks???

yeah your right hell only be stealing away energy from the plant and it needs all it can get anyway. it will probably use so much repairing itself the first fans are gonna turn necrotic anyway.

Yeah the lower branches are just suckers that dont produce much decent bud. As for Topping it will still be beneficial to cut the lower brances (suckers) but I am not a big fan of the topping method. I prefer to FIM because I get better results that way but everyone has their prefered method that works for them so its up to you which way you want to go about it.

Good luck :leaf:

Ya I work up here in Canada. We have the Red Seal thing going on. Doing the corporate thing now....so far been lucky with the economy.

I'm trying both potted (soilless) and Ebb and flow hydro. Blue cheese hydro and Church in pot. I found hydro is harder but I'm sure once I figure it out I will get better results. It's hard to resist over nuting them! :)
