I have a question....

My plants are 1 and a half months old and are only 4 inches tall with 3-4 sets of leaves... i am getting really fustrated when i see peoples pictures of their plants that are only 3 weeks old and bigger and better looking than my plants.. i am growing purple power and citral that i got from nirvana.. i am using a 430watt HPS light... i had the light at 5-6 inches away from the light most of the growth and have just moved it about 20 inches away to see if that will do anything... the soil i am using it an organic soil mixed with blood meal peatmoss, a little bit of mg soil and some potting soil mixed with a little lime.... i have purchased a ph tester that tests for PH and FERTILITY but before and after i put it in the soil it stays at 7.5..... i dont know if i am using it right but the needle doesnt move......

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT I AM DOING WRONG THIS IS MY FIRST GROW AND I AM SOOO FUSTRATED:wall::wall:....

they just wont growwwwww:wall:

o yeah i recently transplanted my plant and i notices my roots are very small and weak.. my plants have been on 24/0 since day one from flouros to hps but tomorow i am going 20/4

Nice looking cuts..

First thing that comes to mind, Is why are you feeding them?
Water is good enough..
Second are you using a dome?
Third how cold are they..

I have many of clones that do nothing at all and they maybe 1 and half old... Green as can be, but no growth,, They are stunned and you should throw them away and start again..
If they are a month old and no root growth, they are lost cause... sorry bro.. Next time use a heating pad..

Hey master, I have had this one particular clone off a Big Bang mother for about a month now. I also cut another more recently and it also has the same problem- they are just not growing. I immediately planted them into soil after applying the cloning solution, TakeRoot, and have waited a while for them to do something, anything really. But nope. They still have a pretty strong stem so I'm pretty sure they're still alive. I'm aware they are yellowing so i tried pouring some Superthrive/VF-11/Earthjuice/Miracle-Gro water in them a few days ago but to no avail. They are under 2 14w Flouro tubes and 2 24w 5000k CFLs. These are my first clones ever. What should I do?

thanks

Nope he is protecting them...

I give him a good enviroment, he was there before I started growing out there(it's a shed..No ac)

And the shed is about 60 years old

Thanks bro plus rep for the kind words
some great buds there master, love the snake just chillin there, didnt bother the plants did he?

Ok from rooted cubes, trans plant in a 16 ounce clear party cup. label the pheno or genetic type, then place clear cup in a red or blue 18 ounce cup..(keg cups)

Don't veg them thats crasy.. Lst by bending and tying. and breaking or femming..

you can also top of course... But don't fridge them:mrgreen:
I plan on transporting some young plants started from seed, about 4-5 hours away, as starting them there isnt an option. These will be aprox. 3 weeks to a month old or no more than about 3 nodes whichever comes 1st. (maybe I fridge em to make em dormant to keep em smaller?)I will have em under 80 watts of cool white in prep. Kinda scary deal actually!
Should I dome these in humidity? Think trunk would be ok? It can get hot in a trunk, but it wont be real hot yet, but that may not matter if in trunk. Ever done this before? Im not real experienced starting from seeds but these will have a decent start as im starting in tree bark rapid rooters. Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks.

I think it's the camera he just shed'ed about a week ago..

He is about 5 feet long maybe longer..

I use to have to pet tree snakes ..
They are pretty smart criters
You'd be suprised

:-P Plus rep for the southern luv
Oh yes those Texas buds looking fine, and i agree the snake is awesome, nice to have a surprise like that when u go in to say hello to your ladies! BTW is it just the pic or was the snakes eyes cloudy and ready for a shed?

Well first off if you need a roommate give me a call:-P

I'd say go with coco instead soil.. I've done a side by side with foxfarm soil(which I love Foxfarm) but coco out performs it's, like a dragster to a buick:-o

Alright your strains I have grown bubblegum, nysd, and G-13 crosses

(bubblegum is OUT OF THIS WORLD) I've never seen a strain thats get's you sloppy hyper stoned then a slow creeper comes after about a hour in.. And it leaves your mouth tasting like candy, sugary goodness..

I'd say you really need to talk to your hydro shop dealer, If your dropping that much money in time like this, He will probably bow to you...

got a question here

what works better, watering from the bottom of the plant or from the top. I planted my seedlings a few days ago and have been only watering from the bottom.

any thoughts?

Re:ph . . . so what's this Ph UP and pH DOWN stuff and would it's use preclude the need for the lime step you've described?
Can you suggest a pH measuring device that will suffice @ < $100?

I'm pretty daggone certain my plants do starve in flower and it's a real pisser. I've gotten away with not concerning myself w/pH for damn near 40 years now, but feel I'm cheating myself by perhaps 40-50% on harvests by not stopping the degradation I see starting fairly early in 12/12.

hi...

growing outdoors.... took the clones out when i was gtin 11.30 hrs of sunlight.... now a month into flowering the light period has reached 12.10 hrs of sunlight..... should i b taking my plants into a dark room??

also how can i tell if my plants have turned hermi or they gt pollinated from foreign pollen??
1 of my plants 31 days into flowering started developing sacks/balls so i moved it inside away from the rest

thanks

I never would use lime in my soil after I plant them..That just sounds crazy..

I work at a plant called Fafard check it out..

http://www.fafard.com/?p=2

Sorry I didn't know you still checking in this thread..
I also suggest you check your PPM's too
(dissolved salts)

Ok there is a couple ways going about this..
Im taking it your a container grower correct?

Alright what I do, probably is correct, but I ph my water a little higher about 6.8 to 7.0 then I add my nutes. after I add my nutes, Then I check again it usully drops a couple of points, so let say 6.5 which is ok..
Then After I water I check my run off which is usually right around 6, This is were I get confused too, now if you ph your water to the correct place before you feed then your run off is way to low sometimes 5 or lower..

I am trying to buy a ebb table(flood and drain) Because it's easier to maintain a constent ph compared to soil(which is the buffer)

Well I was taught to let your girls grow for a couple weeks, take off the bottom branches because most of the time they won't be large enough to care about..
And you can clone them too..

Then once your branches get pretty large over a foot.. then your take cuts and clone them.. then your also topping your plant at the same time...

But there are many different ways to train your plants..

Low stress train.. can be bend them by tying them to the bottom of your pot..
FIM (fuck I missed) it's like topping but my cutting new shoots right before they really open up...(it's hard to explain..srry)

and you should wait at least 2 weeks between topping..

Got any advise on pruning such as when and where is the best time to do it is..... thanks in advance :leaf:

pH Down: Acid formulated using food grade Phosphoric acid. Just add a little at a time if your nutrient pH is too high in order to lower the pH to the proper level.

pH Up: Base formulated using Potassium Hydroxide and Potassium Carbonate. Add a little at a time if your nutrient pH is too low in order to raise the pH to the proper level.

You can buy various varieties us up/down via the internet or at just about any grow shop. I made a deal with my local hydro shop and bought a Milwaukee ph meter for $75 and bought a bottle of ph up and ph down along with it.

A google search will answer all your questions. This is used for vegatable growing and the like so it's not like anyone is going to look at you all screwy for buying some, it's pretty cheap. If you get a meter be sure it comes with calibration fluid, else the meter is pretty much useless...

Cheers
