How accurate is the float test to determine whether or not the seeds can grow?
i dont think its that accurate, just stick your seeds in wet paper towel and put it in a ziplock bag and put it in a dark warm place, normally i see the shell crack on the first day and taproots are visible on the second day

I was wondering if you had any tips, experience, or kmowledge on these strains. Burmese kush from TH seeds, nl and black domina from sensi seeds. Also i germed them from seed in cups for two weeks than put them in 5 gallon pots witk my soil/perlite mix. Been veggin in pots now for 5 weeks still havent shown sex. I would think they should show soon? after they shoe how long should mothers from seed grow before i can safely clone?
Thanx Sparty
P.s go green sat night

You can clone as soon as there are branches to clone from, and if you cut the light schedule down to around 12 on 12 off you will be able to tell the sex of the plant when it starts to pre flower.

Starting a full size refrigerator hydro grow and Im able to get my hands on 400w MH Ballasts for super cheap. I know heat will be an issue in such a small space and am curious if I can possibly use a cool tube? But by using a cool tube I would need to put the bulb in a Horizontal (-----) position instead of Verticle ( l )... Right? Is a MH Bulb able to be put into a horizontal position with out burning it out prematurely?

Do you start counting days in flower at the first sign of sex, or when you make the flip to 12/12?

plants are not in flower untill they show flowers regardless of lighting scedule.
flowering starts when the flowers appear and not when you switch the lights to 12/12.
after switching to 12/12 after a week or so when the plants start showing flowers thats the start of flowering and should be counted from then.
no flowers=plant not flowering regardless of photoperiod(light timing).

Sorry guys I am closing this thread, Ya'll can keep it open if you want, But I have my hands full right now...
thought so.i take it your hands are full of growing books because you dont have a clue??????.
i am glad you have quit because you dont really know what you are talking about and it stops people/growers getting the right information.
stick to your john wayne cigars and start reading and you might be able to come up with some usefull information one day.
as they say quit while you are ahead but you chose to quit when you dont have a clue.
bye bye john:lol::lol::lol:.

if you veg your plants till pre flowers are showing and then switch to 12/12 would you count from the day the pre flowers started to show or the day i popped them under 12/12

when it shows flowers or pre flowers thats the start of flowering.
it does not matter about the photoperiod(18/6-12/12).
when you see flowers thats the start of flowering.
simple as that.

i need some advice if you dont mind.... I just transplanted my three plants into huge pots but they are dropping ..especially one plant. First i was growing in MG potting soil and finnaly i decieded to go organic... I chose MG organic choice mixed with perlite. I mixed up fish emolsion and wetted the soil and gotter done. I switched because i wanted to get away from the slow release the MG has so i can have more control of whats going on. The plants are 30 days old today and a foot tall......im abit worried about them because they dont look as busy and healthy as they should i suppose. Im useing cfls and natural sunlight every day for about 5 hours i water about once a week....do you think my plants will perk back up???/

if the plants stems are not wilting but the leafs are that is over watering, if the stem is also wilting and the whole plant looks weak then its underwatering, pics would greatly help cuz i can only answer your question on how i interpret what you say
how big are the pots, i have 3.5 gallon pots (12 litre) and i water every 3 days, water till you have some water dripping out the bottom of the pot and then let the soil get dry a few inches down but dont let it get bone dry either

an air pump attached to an air stone that sits in your reservoir will add oxygen to your water that is helpful to your grow, it also keeps the water moving

What i am doing is using Daylight for Veging and Soft white for Flowering.

The wats you are using are good but they seem kind of powerful for just two plants which could become a heat problem. You are in the same situation as i am in, but what i am doing is swithing out the bulbs for what ever stage the plants are in (Veg or Flower)

Also how many lumen do each of your lights have? Growing really depends on luminens, i have 6400 lumens from 4 CFL's which is enough for two of my plants

Hope this could help if now you can PM me for any other questions
