First Ever/CFL Grow

:joint: So I started about 3 weeks ago, I didn't really time or date it being my first attempt and all. First let me explain my set-up, I've got a 4x2x7 closet with a hanging 2 tube 4' floruo with one of each a cool white and warm white blub. Also just bought 3 100 (23) watt CFLs today and hooked them up. And a 4-inch high velocity fan. That's it. So I started out with around 32 seedlings(bagseed) and narrowed it down to my best 4. About that time my Atittude Blueberry bean showed up (I only ordered one fem'ed) and I just started it one week ago exactly(2 inches tall). I'll take some pics soon and post them so you can see more. So the bagseed ive got in backyard sand with about 2" of peter's potting mix over it and the BB is in straight MG potting soil. My first of many questions is I've got about 4(working on 5) sets of leaves on my bagseed and it's around 7 inches tall. I know my yield will be small but im wondering, if I flip my lights now will I produce anything at all? I know the sand is garbage but I wasn't really trying to get it good I just wanted to see if they would grow, now im attached. Also I water whenever the soil is dry and every other watering i use a 1/2 dose of peter's 20/20/20.Also up until now my light schedule has been pretty irradic due to roomates but I'ma take the nessecary precautions needed so I can run them as much as I need for my BB. Any tips or help is greatly needed as I want to produce from my bagseed but I deff want my BB to flourish.:joint: :weed:

Ok so here are some pics, the BB is by itself in the 2 liter bottle and the rest is the bagseed. The pot with 3 in it I know needs to be separated, and I plan on doing that tommarrow. How big of pots should I use if I plan to try flowering in about a week? And the BB i'm going to try and veg for about 5 weeks so how big should I go with that pot? Anyways any advice would be great, this is my first thread so help me out.

Looks like you have a tad bit of stretching going on there - might want to lower your lights a little. Are you going to be adding more lights throughout the grow? If not you may not need to get much larger pots than you already have.

Haha wow dude prec'. I thought no one would ever reply. Yeah that's prolly all i'm gonna do as far as lighting due to extremely low budget. Just the 3 100w blubs and the clamp holders was like 30 bucks and thats a lot when your scraping the piece for resin. But what if I were to scrap the bag seed and focus all of my light on the blueberry? Do you think that would cut it all the way to flower?

And yeah when I seperate the 3 in 1 pot im going to rebury all of them about an inch below the small round leaves. The stretching is more than likely due to the fact that I had my 2 tuber about 3 feet above them until about 3 days ago before i got the cfl's (which I got today).

Focusing on just one plant might be the way to go but then again I wouldn't underestimate bag seed. You have a yard? Could always put two of them outside and use lights on the other.

If you plan on actually veging the blueberry for 5 weeks you will definately need more lights. And to flower a plant that big you'll need even more.

Man I'd love to be able to put them outdoors but the roomates and neighbors would deff. flip on me. I guess i'm going to suck it up and get about 3 more 23w cfl's, or should I go with 1 or 2 higher wattage cfl's? But anyways i hooked you up on the scales cause your the only one who has helped me out. Btw, is that just because i'm a new member and my rep is low? Or is it just something i'm doing wrong? I really would love any input I can get as I've learned everything I know from this site, alot of that being from the info you've posted on other's threads. So to everyone out there, Gastanker is AMAZING!

post one of the light set up too if possible. im guessing you aleady got the extra lights but to answer your previous question... "bigger" wattage lights are typically better becouse u are getting more light with less heat porduced compared to many smaller ones that equal the same wattage of th eone bigger bulb. it depends though, if u have alot of smaller wattage bulbs u can aim/ distribute the light exactly where you want it. the link to my setup is below take a look if ur interested>>

Ok so here's the new pics. Thanks guys. Also, I know I've been lazy and not gotten around to transplanting my 3-in-1 pot to bigger, separate pots. But i'm going to trans them all today and rebury them a lil deeper, I was just holding off as long as possible cause i'm going to have to find another way to lower my cfl's which seems impossible. And image 02134 is my:eyesmoke: current light set-up. Upping my wattage today or tomm. and soon after I will be getting more clamp lamps to put the blubs I have now in.

you could use a 2 inch piece of wood hung with hooks and a chain then all you'd have to do is clamp all your fixtures to the main piece of wood. jus an idea you'd have to see how much space u have

Awesome idea man, I'm most deff. gonna have to do that a little later on like when I start flower, as they say my babies will triple in size. But another couple of pluses are I got my new lights today, well...light but its a 65w (300w replacement) and finally got around to replanting in bigger pots and got rid of the demon acidic sand I got out of the yard. Also separating the three that I had in one small container. One of the three was wilting away so I trashed it and also I've read on here that you can flower at 4-5 nodes (leaf sets) and get a small but good yeild so I took my 6 node 8 incher (bs) and tried to start flower today. So now i'm thinking I have plenty of room and so does my crop. I know I posted pics today already but ima throw a few more up of my new and improved set-up. Thanks for all the help. BTW the blueberry is the small one, ofcourse.

Lookin good! Thanks for the rep as well - your is low because you are new not because you ahve done anythign wrong. Infact I think your thread is lookin really nice - love the pics. Good job going with the 65w, lotsa lumens and not too much heat. Did you find a 6500k 65w? My hardware store only carries the big ones in 2700. Either way it will help alot.

Yeah, All I could find was the 2700 as well.I plan on getting another 65w and clamplight prolly tomarrow or the day after. But I'm on day two of trying to flower my one biggest plant. I'll take a pic of that one prolly later tonight as it wasn't in my last set. How long after I start 12/12 should signs of sex appear? Remember this is still a little plant with maybe 5-6 nodes and around 10" tall.

you should see sex after 2 weeks but it might be as soon as one week under 12/12. This is obviously with no light leaks so make sure to check your grow in the off cycle to ensure there are no leaks. Any light leaks will greatly increase ur flowering period.

lookin good can't wait to see how this goes

Haha hope I don't disappoint. Had some problems posting pics shortly. Also got a new flowering area, so Now im gonna need more lights, which I guess I was expecting anyways. Just hate to spend so much money on a first grow, but I guess I will need all the equipment I can get for the clones I hope to take from my BB.

ok so here are the new pics. The first 3 are of the one I'm flowering before my new flower area set-up. The next 10 are of my new flower area (same plantBS1).The next 3 are my BB, yum yum haha. The next four are of BS2 in the tan pot, a little yellowing but she's starting to come back. Hopefully it's a she. The next 5 are of BS3 in the green pot, this is my problem plant, I've got some brown spots on my lower leaves and they are yellow as well. I'm pretty sure I over nute'd them. So I've gone back to just water for a while and there in MG soil with nutes so I think I'll be ok w/ just water for a while. And the top looks healthy and is still growing. And the last 3 are my overall veg room. And the last one is my flower area again, will be adding light tomm.
