Almost arrested growing! 3 Cop cars surrounded me!

Quite the scare last night with the police...let me explain the story.

My grow buddy and I were setting up the water tank around 11 pm at night. We were finishing up when my friend got a call from someone saying his car is surrounded by 3 cops who ran his license plate and we're waiting. Now, the car was in a concealed little nook off the side of a side road...somewhere no one would go. How a cop saw the car is still a mystery.

As we walked back (slightly panicking), we devised up a story about how we were looking for something we had lost earlier that day while hiking. We walked up to the car and immediately saw 3 cop cars. They shined their lights on us and took our IDs. Keeping our cool we told them our story. After they found out I work at my school's garden a lady cop asked us if I grow "special" plants. I looked at her in the eye and said: "No ma'am" and they let us on our way.

After we pulled out and drove off, nearly arrested, i told my friend to let me out of the car to see how long the cops hang around. I sit down in a concealed area and see them leave after about 8-10 minutes. This confirmed that they had not found the plot. Their cars were parked about 150 yards from it, so the chances of them having found it are very low.

After I was picked up my grow buddy and I spent about 3 hours debating wether we should continue or not. Its hard to decide considering it was such a close call. We have to frequent the site about once every 2 weeks this summer...a huge risk is at hand.

Now here is where it gets interesting. At this spot, there are 2 plants in the ground and 9 in pots. We are planning on moving all of the plants and 2 water tanks in a few nights. Very risky, basically an all or nothing night.

I know the initial thoughts of everyone are going to be "DONT EVER GO BACK". My partner and I understand this logic and we know it is the right thing to do. BUT, we have thought long and hard and calculated that based on the events of that night, the police did not search the area and they are not setting up a trap (too much time/money for the amount of plants). Plus, if they had found the plants, they would show up at our doors.

Thank you for reading this story. Hopefully you have some constructive feedback.

So your growing outdoors in the bush right?

If the cop directly asked you if you are growing "special" plants, they were obviously there because someone has reported a marijuana plantation. Why would they just come out and ask that otherwise, and why would three cars be there? Its a very random question to ask unless they already knew there was some type of grow op around.

I would never go back. Ever.

Be very very careful. Cops aren't the brightest ppl, but they make up for it in sheer volume and technology.... (like a wireless camera near your grow which may be there right now).... careful. next time you go, do it at night and make sure to cover your face. Even if you think no one is there.

put some duct tape on the bottom of ur shoes as well, as to leave no tracks, and wear shoes a couple sizes to big = )

Think like this,
the cops find the plants, (the next day, when it is daylite) they are not going to move them, what good is that when they know the mouse will be greedy and come back for the cheese, so they set the trap and wait!, you see they have all year to wait, they get paid to wait, and they know when harvest time will come....be wise, sly like fox, move like night, once you move it its harvest with intent to sell? cross state lines? i am just saying.

I don't grow but a garden of corn and tomato, and the likes!!!
all pictures are copy and paste from locations around the world!
SO SAY I.......

Tough break bro. My advice is: ask yourself if you can afford the lose or not, if that were my crop and that were me and my bro I think we'd take the risk, thats just us though... good luck

I would grab the tanks one night and not the plants then if they did get you they could only get you for theft. Claim nothing about the plants... Then if you dont get caught the first time come back a few later... Hard break man I would surely say someone found your farm and they are starting to patrol. thats why she asked you think about it otherwise she wouldve been oblivious and thought nothing about growing weed... Id she gave you an out w/ a warning attached like yea we know its growin on. Good luck though w/ your decision My brother and I would probubly go for it but its all math really.

First, you need to find another place to take them. That's your first priority. Then, rent a van/truck, something that's not yours. Have your move be well planned (who moves what where, stuff like that). Wait until 2-3am and go in with a mask, gloves, ill-fitting shoes with duct tape on the bottoms, andthe whole 9 yards. Get in, get out. Take the plants DIRECTLY to the new site, and drop off the rental car in the morning with a full tank of gas. Most of all, don't get caught!

Good luck, you're gonna need it.

YO bro thats some crazy ... love that u havnt given up yet ...... i dont like losing EVER so i understand.. i think its possible but you gotta be MAD careful.

The cops were there for either two reason ...they people grow weed in there (either from past or nosy people)... or where you parked your car is a bit suspect..... whatever the reason ... the cops got a scent of something fishy ... they prob wont do a full on investgation but doesnt mean they wont be back to snoop around some time... wtv u do do it fast and do it smart .. and for your safety id have it one person doing the mission one person watching and waiting... better safe then sorry

Stay Safe :bigjoint: n Good Luck

This is what I would do if I was in your shoes. I would go in another way. If you have to get a map and hike it 20 mins the back way, do it cause they know the way you enter. Second go around 4 or 5 in the morning. They are less likely to be there ( end of the shift ) Move your plants deeper in or move them about 300 yards away. Do as someone else did duct tape the bottom of your shoes, and don't leave anything behind. ( don't smoke cig or mj well you are out there) And last but not least get a look out were you were busted at. just incase someone is watching.

P.S. Next time have a girl with you, could of played the hooky thing. lol

Hey bro, sorry to hear bout your situation, I have seen your previous grow threads and noticed it was you. No offense but I think your first prob is the fact your spot is not hidden far from the road/or hidden in general that is and youdo not seem confident the cops will not find your plot. I also think a big thing to take into consideration like you said is the question came from your occupation reference, what else would they be thinking you were doing at that time you know? Hope everything turn ok, remeber its a weed tho, you can chill for a few and come in a secret entrance like said, thats wat i wud do

that's too bad you had to deal with the boys in blue OrangeShovel. luckily they didn't catch you with anything that can actually put any convictions on you guys though. coming from cal myself and knowing how the cops are here, they'll definitely be checking that area for the rest of summer for any vehicles in that spot if cars aren't usually there. but like others have said, I would get my shit out and move to another spot and to completely different area. once she asked if you grew "special" plants, they already knew what was up without seeing or knowing anything. that was their hunch and they were dead on with it. just better to be safe than sorry you know. if it was later in season and starting to flower, I'd say wait it out but that spot's just too heated now. let us know what you decide though as you and your partner ultimately know the situation and area better than all of us. good luck man
