Ok so i just got back online the other week so im playing catch up on posting.

I took the rubbermaid tub and cut a intake hole on the side and cut another one for the outtake on the top.
using 2, 3 speed (low, mid, high) double baring cpu fans for great air flow.
used zip ties to secure a power strip to the underside of the lid. started with 2 34watt CFLs.

started with 12 peat pots and 15 bagseeds from some 4 different bags. out of the 15 i had 12 germ. ( really happy about that)

*also, the inside of the tub has deep sides that i keep filled with water to keep a high humidity.

more to come... later

Hmm, I've grown only 2 times now, I have never trained my plants. Whats the point of training them? just to keep them growing lower?

the fans are Antec 3 speed double berring cpu fan. got them at frys for like 14$ ea.

this is only my second grow, first one was a total bust but i learned a lot about it. on this grow i wanted to train a little early to try and stimulate growth. seems to be working :) have more pics up in a few days. ( dont really know what day they are at but i know it is around the 2nd week.)

That's some pretty extreme LST you got goin there. It hasn't hurt none, but It really hasn't helped much either. You really dont want it that close to the surface of the soil. You certainly dont want any part of your plant touching the soil. That can cause problems. There needs to be constant airflow and breathability above the soil and under the plant to avoid rot and diseases. Plus you need room for the branches (offshoots) to develope and reach out. Youve kinda got the right idael but like I said its a little extreme lol. Check these LST threads out. Good luck with the grow!

thanks for the input. like i said this is only my second grow, my next one will be different. i will have more space for that one.

***UPDATE***

End of week three... added three more seedlings that i will be growing out on 12/12. But doesnt matter to much the three are Blue Mystic from world-wide-marijuana-seeds.com

what do you guys think?

Looks good. Its time for a transplant though. Thats about as big as i would want them to be in those cups. They look a little hungry too unless thats just the lights.

well i transplanted them into the cups last week. before that they were just in the peat pots and i transplanted when the roots started showing through the bottom. prob will just keep them in the cups all the way through flowering. im kinda limited on space right now. so untill i can get more head room in the grow box they will just need to stay where they are for now

Your girls look insane... Keep up the good work.. How can I keep my temp down in my Rubbermaid? It will most likely be in the backyard and at some point each day the sun will hit it for a few hours? Had a sm cabinet space set up but it was getting 100 degrees in the middle of the day recently.....Think I lost one because of that heat?~!!!!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...and again, those girls are sick..

why is your rubbermade going to be outside? you would have far less HEAT related problem if you had a nice dark closet. lol but i have two cpu fas on mine bringing cool air in and taking the hot out. bout to add two more fans cuz im planning on adding more light. but to keep temps down make sure you have a big enough outtake hole and all you need is a small to med. fan to move the air around. you got a pic of your set up?

UPDATE....
Changed the light setup a little. moved the lights from the sides of the rubbermaid tub to the underside of the lid. and i also added four more light.... just waiting till the weekend to add extra fans.

but take a look at and let me know what you think:)

I'm enjoying your photos.

It's nice to have a fellow CFL first-timer to compare my crop to ;)

Any idea when you're going to start flowering?

I'll be sure to stay-tuned.
