If you are growing in your closet, is it really going to make the whole house smell? I don't live alone and want to do whatever it takes to neutralize any odor that could get out of my closet.

I will be running a 2ft long florescent* light with 2 bulbs in the vegetation section for 18 hours a day, and considering a 400w hps for my flowering section running 12 hours a day. I can't let the power bill go up more than 15 dollars, so If the hps bulb is going to kick my butt, then I need to know so I can try and find other ideas for a source of light. Any "tricks of the trade" would be swell!

I'm just doing this for a hobby. I'm not going to sell any of my crop, but I just want to learn how.

Thanks again -Xesvuli420

Compact Florescent Light bulbs save electricity. an hps will eat electricity

your house will stink of dankness if you dont have proper ventilation and filtering

CFL's are the light bulbs with the ''swiggles'' for veg state. you need to get DAYLIGHT 6500K 20w or 26w.. they save energy. and heat will not be an issue with the CFL bulbs. i would have two bulbs for each plant. any for relectors, dont use tenfoil. Use "mylar" some cheap mylar subs are fire blankets, the shiny wrapping paper, or even the sun reflectors for your car work awesome. For temperatures try to keep 75-85.. 79 i would say is perfect. do not over water. once every 3-4 days. or the toothpick test..(finger test) put a toothpick into the soil on the edge of the pot and see if the soil about 1-2 inches is moist. if not moist water. if moist DONT.
any other questions bro??

i'm looking for the mylar now, that mess is expensive, lol this whole ordeal has already cost the you know what outta me, but i'm almost there. ok, i assume by squigglys you mean those light bulbs that are like a swirl that go into your light socket to replace regular light bulbs. I can use those for the flowering state? I already have the 2ft long hood set up with a cool white and a warm white tube for the veg state. I am also using a drip system (if I can rig up a splitter for my water pump... let me just tell you what I have so far in the next post...

there are cheap mylar substatutes (there all made of or coated in mylar), like windshield reflector, shiny wrapping paper, and emergency blankets. each should cost around 5 dollars

mylar is expensive...thats why you use substitutes...the shiny wrapping paper is what i've used.. it was like american flag with the shiny all throughout it..but i just flipped the wrapping paper inside out..and BAM! super good reflector.

Vegitation side...
30gal tote with water and nutrients and a 50-80gph pump pumping the water to a FUTURE drip system above the tote where the plants will sit. a 2ft hood with cool white and warm white bulbs running 18hrs, a small fan, and Mylar all inside an area of about 33"widelX14"deepX48"tall (small I know, but all I have. The plants will be in those Rockwool cubes until the mothers are ready to be potted, and maintained for future clones. The clones will stay in the 4" cubes until ready to transplant into the flowering room.

Flowering side...u
another tote, another pump, but this time I will have a different light source for 12hrs a day to incourage flowering. Clones will come here to be put into planter and surround by those red rock things, and hopefully do most of the work for me

i used t5's for veg .... and then switched to 400 in flower.... thats the best way to go i think.... i did cfls with the t5 once they turned big to compliment them..... my plant didnt stink untill the last month of flower so dont worry until they do....

oh and cheezy, did the 400 raise your power alot? from the grower i learned from he tells me that the lights he told me to use would work the best. like i said im new, but he seems to know his stuff.

I'm not too sure with DWC grows...but..deff sounds good..but your power bill will most likely have a substantial growth .Your gonna have some sick plants though!!

well you got to much lite goin for the babies... the tendency is when there far away they strech more.... besides if you have 20 plant gro then youll need alot of lite and the floro wont provide enuff..... thats why grower pull the 400 out early... for massive grows
t5's are basically floros.... that produce less heat and save energy ... all hydro stores havem.... i paid 80 dollars for mine..... the advantage is u can keep em real close to the tops whitch stops streching and reduces heat

as far as cost its like 20 dollars extra a month..for the 400.. i think.... but 12 hrs isnt that much time...
its safe on here.. i putt up pics of me and my plant together... dont think the fbi is on here....
plus i live in cali..... got the med card ... shits legal
