i really was being nice. by the way, you do have to be 18 to post here.
i really was trying to be helpful, a cocky attitude doesn't lead to better grows, just leads to shitstorms like this one.
i will gladly leave your thread, but honestly it was all in the name of opening your eyes and ears.
you learn nothing by coming here and making a big, loud and proud statement "I know what I know, and don't give a fuck about your thoughts."

i do have a real life by the way, i was being polite, you're being the tough guy.

now lets stop arguing and do what we came here to do, grow some pot!!

truly no disrespect intended ORIGINALLY, but now.. i'm not so sure.

:peace:

Naw dawg, don't get me wrong, I wasn't being cocky, I was just pissed that all I was doing helping people grow with the stuff I read, they weren't my opinions, and some random guy I don't know just comes and tells me to stop helping kids because I wasn't worthy of it yet. You have to understand where im coming from man. and I apologize for the strong comeback, I was pissed at my sister for stealing my car.
PS: I am 18, moving out later this year

Uhh. Uhhh. Anyway. I did topping and i didnt end up with any hermes. I was lucky? I have skill? I have seeds with good genes? Who knows? I have a male that was in flowering when i took a clone. Its been in a cup of water, because when i was in wet, wet soil-with rooting hormone powder, it wilted, and its brother died. It has been in the cup of water for about 4 weeks now and shows no signs of roots, but it did revert back to veg stage and has new growth.

At my stage of experience, seeds are more reliable than clones, BUT, i dont know if i have a male or female until flowering. Everything has a pro and con. This is my second outdoor grow. Last year i started outdoors, then ended indoors. This year i stared indoors and am ending it outdoors. A couple of years ago i had a massive 15 gallon planter FILLED with plants, but they had to be destroyed a couple of weeks before flowering. A bit of my soul died that day.

Intention and tone are very difficult to interprate in text only. Some things come off as aggressive and defensive more so than the intention in a lot of cases. I dont care who is right or wrong, but potheads should learn to fight against the real enemy, not eachother. The enemy of course is the evil monkey that lives in my closet. I aslo agree that those under the age of 18 should not be messing around with inhaling any kind of smoke. Wait till your body and mind are done growing, then have at it.

Day 11(Aug 14th 1.40 pm): I went to the store today and picked up some more supplies (pic 1). Im actually very glad I did cuz the new pH meter says that both of the plants pH are at 6 while the earlier one said 7. I also put up some mylar on the walls, but I did a very crappy job haha (hopefully that wont matter). Jane seems to be doing a lot better while Mary is still a bit droopy (Im starting to think its because she doesn't have a strong enough stem?).
pic2= Mary, Pic 3=Jane, Pic 4= the seedling box w/ mylar

I was also thinking for awhile of tying the seedlings onto a toothpick to straighten them, but I never really thought it necessary. What do you guys think?(the stems are way more bent then they look in the pics)
PS: they are on books so that i can just change the amount of pages under them to change dist between the plants and light

Well a lot of people top with out any problems at all, when you do it you just take a tiny chance of turning it into a hermie (reaction really depends on the plant).

Yeah dude that male female thing is why im seriously considering just getting feminized seeds and keeping a mother so I never have to worry about sex. I hate when people destroy or steal other peoples crops! a friend of my was growing outside his house (the plants were massive!) and like 2 days before harvest the plants were jacked

Yeah I know that whole thing was completely unnecessary, I apologize for that, I was already pissed and then shack kinda tilted me over the top.

I completely agree with that age thing tho, I started at 15 and I really wish I wouldn't have, it fucked over my school that and the next year. at 17 I was mature enough to handle pot and school at the same time.

I need to get a Ph tester myself, tho Ive been doing pretty good playing things by eye so far. Soon I hope. Need funds tho.

About the stems, when my little ones are a little crooked, I put them in the sun, with the bend turned away from the sun, so they bend themselves back towards the sun. Get what I mean. It works out well.

I got that one for 9 bucks at a local nursery, seems to be working pretty well.

Yeah dude thats what ive been doing with my lights but they keep on bending too far toward the light, aka im exactly where I started haha

I dont think either of the two need a toothpick. Theyll be fine. Mine have done the same thing, but they move all over the place, I turn them around alot, just to get them to move a bunch and strengthen up the stem.

Even if its not destined, too bad, imma do it anyways haha. so no toothpicks?
Imo, if you think they need straightened, it can't hurt. I had the same problem with my first grow and a half (I say half because the first 4 died right where yours are). I didn't do anything to the first little ones that started bending over and they just never recovered :wall:. Now that could have been because I screwed up countless other things being a noob... but, I straightened up the next batch with straightened paper clips when that same thing happened, and they survived.

Though, I guess it could all just have been a big coincidence...

Anybody know what causes bendy stem syndrome? My original thought was overwatering and high humidity... It definitely wasn't underwatering because the soil was most definitely moist (read: wet). In my currently flowering, and in my vegging clones right now, that did not/is not happening. I assume because I moved the grow space to a more well ventillated area and i only water when the top of the soil gets crusty.

Does your older one still turn all over the place or just the 3 younglings?

Word dude, thanks for that story, Im gonna straighten them just to be safe. What else did you screw up? the only thing ive done wrong so far is overwatering.

A little while back I was reading on how to grow cannabis (when I just got the idea) and I remember them talking about CFL indoor grows having very thin weak stems. So i don't think its us doing anything wrong, its just the type of lights that are causing weak stems (daylight lamps). I might add in 1 or 2 2700k lamps to induce stem growth if my plants are still really weak in like a week or so (right now im not too worried cuz they are still little seedlings).

wat u mean drama tamuli
Nvm about the drama dude, i thought u were talking about something else.
Why did you slap yourself?

My older one is now 3 days into LST, so it only moves where I want it to, lol. Other than the tops reaching for the lights. In my experience most of my sprouts have had little bends to them, they work it out as they come up. I kinda took it as natural until you brought it up. lol

Well neither one of them really has bends, they both are just growing in an un straight manner (see pics below)

Oh, I see what you mean now. Is your 6500 k the direction they seem to be reaching for, or does it matter if you turn them around?
