Sugar Blossom, CFL, Flower/Veg Cabinet

Hey everyone. Starting on my third grow, and the first from seed in my new cabinet. I upgraded from a rubbermaid set-up and am quite happy with the move.

I am growing for personnel consumption (about 1/4 ounce /month) so am not trying for huge plants.

For details on what I will be growing:

Strain: Sugar Blossom, Joey Weed (White Widow Cross, From Hemp Depot)
Grow Area: Pantry type cabinet, with a small veg/clone area and a larger flower area.
Lighting: Veg - 2x 23w 6500k CFL, 1x 23w 4200k? CFL, 1x 15w 2700k CFL
Flowering - 2x 42w 6500k CFL, 2x 42w 2700k CFL, 4x 30w 2700k CFL
Soil: Premier Pro Mix w/ 25% extra perlite added

Nutes: MG veg and flowering nutes (thinking of switching to organic in the future, but wanted to use the nutes I have so it wasn't a waste of money)

I am going to use a combination of LST and topping on the ladies, with the topping hopefully being able to lead to clones so I can get a perpetual grow going. Once set-up I want to try for 2 plants in the flowering area with an offset of 4 weeks to their times, hopefully getting a harvest every month (or 5 weeks)

About a week ago, I put my last four SB seeds in a paper towel to start germing, and then planted each in a small pot with soil.

Nothing too interesting to note as of yet, had 3/4 germ and am currently sitting with three seedlings. So out of the 10 seeds I ordered I had a 9/10 germ rate.

Had plants of 24 hours light for the first few days and now have swtiched over to 19/5 lighting. have misting 2 times daily, still haven't gave a full watering at DAY 4. Comments and help are always welcome! :joint::joint::joint:

So here are some pics:

DAY 4

how big is your flowering area? I have a very similar cabinet and I will try to put two plants in the flowering part (I have 5 vegging right now). It looks like you did a pretty good job at keeping small.

You had me at "thinking about switching to organic" You'll be glad you did.
I like the Maxx Scoop too, I grow in Scoop Away LOL.
Oh...the plant IN the bucket is not to bad either.
Keep em green.bongsmilie:peace:

Hey golden, my flowering area height is 38", and veg area height is 15". LST works really good to the keep the plant short with lots of colas

Thanks iglw, one thing I wanted was a clean grow area with no cords and lights all over the place.

Haha I thought I was weird for using kitty litter containers, I think they better use of space though with the rectangular shape.

Thanks for the compliments, I'm just checking out your grow

I'm a PC grower so I have a really small space, so I'm gonna be doing LST too. It benefits in two ways coz you get more colas and it keeps the plant shorter.

DAY 10

Things have been going along smoothly, no nutes yet only clear water when the pots feel light. I am seeing roots starting to poke out the drainage holes, so I will probably be transplanting next weekend.

All three plants are doing well, with a three point set out and a 5 point on the way. One plant is moving along a bit faster than the other two (Plant B). It was the first seed to show a tap root and the first to break soil, and has stayed ahead since. I've found that the faster growing plants usually end up male, so I'll see if I end up with one male and two females.

Here is all three:

PLANT A DAY 4 VS DAY 10

PLANT D DAY 4 VS DAY 10

PLANT B DAY 4 VS DAY 10

They're all curled down though. Thats not such a good thing.
I think its a little too close to the light. I see signs of heat stress in this one.

Happy plants have leaves that stand at attention reaching for the light. Not stretching mind you but reaching.
Also if they were waterlogged they might look like that too, but I suspect light/heat stress as the cause. What are the temps at the top of that plant?

Doing a bit to much watering there yeld... Back off on watering, let it go another day when you think it needs to be watered. Thats why the one plant on the left is hella drooping. Its got the canoe shaped leaves that mine had. Let her dry out real good before watering and get 'em into a bigger pot like you said, but a bit sooner. BTW its plant A that I'm talking about...
