yes add sugar as tea tree said use unsulfured molasses and make sure you have enough oxygen bubbling and at 18 to 24 hours you are going to see the most bacteria = higher ph. fungi's waste is acid bacteria's isalkaline.

my solution before adding any PH up was 4.9. thats nuts. not sure why i followed the chart and the ladies look lovely, have you used diamond black?

I have been using DB for awhile now, and If you are going to use it, reduce your nutes to 75%.

My plants never had any nute burn when I was using 100% strength, but when I started using DB, I would get very minor nute burn at the tips. Theres no doubt it is helping with the uptake of nutrients.

Im always a fan of using less nutes.

what are you lighting with? and i hve heard the most good reports about AN iguana juice and will be using it this grow sorry terrorizer wont be using the GO last min decision to go with the the iguana juice. just got the grow and bloom

I am having bad luck with GO. I bought the whole line, my plants are completely yellow. i was told not to adjust my ph by a GH rep on the phone which probably was a bad idea. 5 and 6 weeks into flowering. I plan on finishing out these ones and not using them again. the plants i had in veg were also yellow so i flushed them and switched back to technaflora which is working great for me

I'm having the same problems with my soil plants.

I've found that even at the full recommended strength ppm/tds/EC is low.

I'm switching to general hydro flora nova.

I read somewhere I believe on the GH website that said ppm/ec and ph did not have to be measured with there organics line. My plants are telling me otherwise

I feed every other watering, usually using the "heavy" dosage listed on the bottle, depending on the stage of the plant.

I have NEVER measured the pH of my nutrient mixture or soil, and have no need to...let alone the ppm/tds/EC...you just don't need to.

I also don't follow any kind of feeding chart...I apply nutrients based on plant response. I give BioWeed throughout the duration of the grow, regardless of phase. I continue to add Biothrive Grow nutrients throughout the first 5 or 6 weeks of flower in addition to the Biothrive Bloom nutrients, never exceeding 4 teaspoons Grow+Bloom per gallon. This added Nitrogen helps keep leaves green and healthy until I'm ready for them to yellow.

good to hear you have been havin success jerry. my buddy has also been using The GO line thru veg now and i am going to be using ther grow,weed,and root in veg. i was thinking of starting out only using the root at 1/4 strength. i am in roots soil with 1/3 perlite. the plants are 10 days old. im guna try and get a journal up soon and i will thro it up here. my question is jerry how do you think i should start the nutes? i have given them several application of roots orgenisms xl.

The BioRoot is pretty benign I think, so 1/2 teaspoon per gallon should be fine. I am pleased with the BioThrive Grow as a veg nutrient, but because I add high-N guano to my soil I don't end up using very much during veg. As I said though I use it throughout the grow.

10 day old plants definitely don't need much, so starting with a lighter application of BioRoot and maybe even a 1/4 teaspoon BioWeed would be a good start. In about a week or so you should start giving the BioThrive veg at a slightly reduced concentration.

The BioWeed and BioRoot are both really great. And I totally dig the Diamond Black as well.

wrong we are talking about organics its all about the microorganisms, bubbling will effect the ph the first 24 hours. he is using an organic nute that has endo and ectobacteria in it. bubbling the water incourages bacteria grow. therefore changing your fungi to bacteria ratio the more bacteria the more alkaline the solution the more fungi the more acidic.

You are not supposed to bubble your solution with this line of nutrients because it causes ridiculous foaming.

Damn Jerry. If you're using Metro-mix you must be somewhere near my location, as I'm pretty sure that's a local mix. I mix my own soil/soilless mix also, with a lot of the same ingredients. I'm also testing out the General Organics lineup, as I got a go-box sample pack. I'm a fairly experienced grower, but I'm having some def/lockout issues with this line that I never had with Advanced (not repping them AT ALL).

I'm starting to agree with the idea of keeping a higher nitrogen base through the first half of flowering, but specifically the nitrate form, not urea. We'll see how it goes.

Also, just saw you're a Buckey fan

The diamond black is derived from leonardite, so you probably don't need it if roots has it in the soil. They add a little potash to make it 0-0-1 though if you wanted a little extra K.

I only recently started using the Metro because my shop stopped carrying biobizz light mix (which I recommend if you can get it) and the alternative was Sunshine Mix which I tried and didn't like.

Fitting you should mention AN, as they posted a video (http://www.growersunderground.com/blog/hydroponics-articles/the-great-phosphorus-myth-exposed) with charts indicating Nitrogen requirements INCREASE during flowering for many strains. Watch the video and when he puts up the charts, look carefully and you'll see. Unfortunately he goes on to offer a product which doesn't at all support the data he just showed, but the content is whats important. I have never used AN so I can't comment on their products.

And if you think about it, it makes sense that plants need more Nitrogen (especially early in flower) to support the rapid size increase/stretch.

Typically when I begin flower, I will transplant into a larger container with the same base soil I started with, high-N guano and all, to give the plants that added Nitrogen. Makes things run very smoothly.

Oh, and I figured by your SN that it referred to the school up north and not the cuddly animal. I actually have a long and fond history with Michigan (the state), but not so much Ann Arbor. I hope Rich Rod stays the coach forever
