Under the cover of darkness obama signed E.O. 12425: Amending E.O. 12425 Designating Interpol as a public international organization entitled to enjoy certian privilege, exemptions, and immunities.

Obama has given Interpol immunity to operate within the borders and territories of the U.S.WITH NO OVERSIGHT or restrictions of our CONSTITUTIONALLY PROTECTED RIGHTS.

Spooky stuff for sure - all the more reason to "stock up".

if you think that is scary look up operations garden plot and operation cable splicer (rex 84) program. Both of these take away our rights and give the feds and fema new rights under martial law. Those fema camps are not for terrorists, they are for americans that are non-conforming in the time of a national emergency.

you have to take the good with the bad, so to speak.

You DON'T just give away U.S. Sovreignty that was paid for IN BLOOD by my fellow countrymen and brothers and tell me 'it's a good thing'. Thats so wrong it's beyond belief. And I'm still waiting for the 'good'.

what good? nothing this administration has forwarded has been anything more than preparation for a totalitarian state. the consolidation of the banking industry under the control of beltway insiders? penalizing american business through increased taxation and environmental regulation? the destruction of the insurance industry through oppressive governmental standardization and then bending the constitution to demand the state mandated purchase of health insurance? the steady growth of the government payroll while private sector unemployment continues to grow? i'm sure i've missed quite a few things, but i'm a bit high and these are just a few items that come to mind. the only honest thing the bastard has done is to quit using grecian formula and let his hair return to grey.

i'm sure the rest of the world will love us when their storm troopers can roam our countryside with impunity, but i think i'd rather be hated.

I hope all you chumps who voted for Obama feel real queasy right now. Just fricking great. :cuss:
You know I felt like this too, but I think all presidents are taken to a Builderberg meeting and given their agenda. I shutter at the thought of McCain being president too.

J.F.K. was the last president to actually stand up to the "elites", and every president since then knows what happened to him.

Once we see that politics is just as fake as Wrestling. We can start making common sense decisions rather than political ones.

I love your well thought out posts, undertheice, and this one is no exception.

This makes the preservation of the Second Amendment all the more important. I'm very sure the Founder's intent was, if at any time someone knocks on the door of a sovereign citizen and says: "I'm here to take your liberty away," the citizen is to shoot first and ask questions later.

nobody here has all the information required to fully analyze this situation; IMO. admittedly, it is, on the surface, scary. but there is more to this EO.

we have yet to hear of anyone's rights being denied due to this EO. but, it's a great topic for Obama bashing.

it would be nice if the White House issued a press release or something.

A quick google showed this info - Perhaps you should not be so complacent - now interpol has more access to you than does the FBI or CIA.

Executive Order 12425 Obama gives Interpol free hand in U.S.
No presidential statement or White House press briefing was held on it. In fact, all that can be found about it on the official White House Web site is the Dec. 17 announcement and one-paragraph text of President Obama's Executive Order 12425, with this innocuous headline: "Amending Executive Order 12425 Designating Interpol as a public international organization entitled to enjoy certain privileges, exemptions, and immunities."In fact, this new directive from Obama may be the most destructive blow ever struck against American constitutional civil liberties. No wonder the White House said as little as possible about it.
There are multiple reasons why this Obama decision is so deeply disturbing. First, the Obama order reverses a 1983 Reagan administration decision in order to grant Interpol, the International Criminal Police Organization, two key privileges. First, Obama has granted Interpol the ability to operate within the territorial limits of the United States without being subject to the same constitutional restraints that apply to all domestic law enforcement agencies such as the FBI. Second, Obama has exempted Interpol's domestic facilities -- including its office within the U.S. Department of Justice -- from search and seizure by U.S. authorities and from disclosure of archived documents in response to Freedom of Information Act requests filed by U.S. citizens. Think very carefully about what you just read: Obama has given an international law enforcement organization that is accountable to no other national authority the ability to operate as it pleases within our own borders, and he has freed it from the most basic measure of official transparency and accountability, the FOIA.
The Examiner has asked for but not yet received from the White House press office an explanation of why the president signed this executive order and who among his advisers was involved in the process leading to his doing so. Unless the White House can provide credible reasons to think otherwise, it seems clear that Executive Order 12425's consequences could be far-reaching and disastrous. To cite only the most obvious example, giving Interpol free rein to act within this country could subject U.S. military, diplomatic, and intelligence personnel to the prospect of being taken into custody and hauled before the International Criminal Court as "war criminals."
As National Review Online's Andy McCarthy put it, the White House must answer these questions: Why should we elevate an international police force above American law? Why would we immunize an international police force from the limitations that constrain the FBI and other American law-enforcement agencies? Why is it suddenly necessary to have, within the Justice Department, a repository for stashing government files that will be beyond the scrutiny of Congress, American law enforcement, the media, and the American people?

I find it preposterous that an American president would feel it necessary to commit such an act of outright treason.
But thats just me, a dumb ass that served for 24 years to protect your rights that he just pissed away.

So people who get cought by these guys go where?
They go to an american jail?
They go to an american court?
What laws are we now subject to?
Who are interpols main international targets, what crimes do they deal with?
Will the Interpol Agents arresting people in the US be American or Foreign?
Who funds interpol?

You know whats great about America we can boot the bum out in 2012.
However, I will give 3 to 1 odds that the next Republican president does nothing to reverse this.
Diffrent side of the same coin.

And there should be some good answers...but are there? My main questions were WHY? and WHY NOW?

What do the American people stand to gain from this 'change'? Nothing good I'm sure. Otherwsie the Administration would have been crowing all about it...but they didn't..they swept it under a rug, quietly. :finger:

As far as presidents making BAD decisions go, this is just another Executive order I know about that has been amended or changed to drastically alter its meaning. The first one was changed by Bill Clinton regarding Americas nuclear response to an enemy striking the U.S. with a nuke.

PDD/NSC 60
Nuclear Weapons Employment Policy Guidance

November 1997
The new guidance also continues the policy that the U.S. will not rely on "launch on warning," but will maintain the capability to respond promptly to any attack, thus complicating an adversary's calculations.

The posture USED to be 'launch on warning', but is not any longer. Now the U.S. must suffer and verify a nuclear detonation before she can respond.

i booked-up on eo 12425. i know what the original EO said and what the amendment says. i also read critical opinion for a more complete understanding of the consequences. and I'm not complacent about the issue. I haven't really formed a final opinion yet because I feel there is more to the story.

the thing I don't like about it is the complete castration of our justice system. much like bushy did with the Patriot Act.

if we can't gather evidence against INTERPOL then we can't process them if they are acting illegally. they could, in theory, kidnap a citizen and hold them with diplomatic status. although it might be possible, it is an extreme. but less serious issues could arise and violate rights of US citizens.

there is a lot more to this then is known. it's easy for an Obama hater to revolt on this issue. i, on the other hand, don't believe Obama is a racist, nor an alien, nor a socialist, communist, Kenyan or terrorist. i think he is a very astute leader who has the capacity to help our country.

unfortunately, government is broken and politicians are campaigning more than they are legislating, and the campaign is the #1 priority.
