New grow: day 12 veg (First grow journal)

Hey man, your thread here kept me up from 1 to 3, can't sleep for some reason... no bud. Anyway... I'm going to be starting a semi professional grow soon only with 2-4 plants. Your plants look really good. I hope they flower well. I was thinking though about your side lights(cfl's?), why not just cover the room in mylar and use a single 400w HPS light, would that not be efficient light for the sides of the plant? Check out my thread in the new grower area.

EDIT: Also, how is your LST going? I would like to try that on my first go.

That one 400w HPS light would;

• Increase the rooms heat
• Use more electricity
• Provide light from above and not around the plants
• Cost more to maintain
• Cost more as an inital cost
• Require venting to keep the room cooled
• Need around 2-3ft inbetween the light and the plants, meaning a lot more room would be needed.

Thats just my opinion and hope it helps if your considering a HPS bulb.

Yu would get good results easier with the right equipment but it does require a lot more to achieve the results.

If your a new grower, stick with cfl's for maybe your first 1-2 grows. Then after you've achieved good results using these, move onto the HPS/MH.

hey all sorry for the absence. Crazy holiay time. But anyways, today is day 24 flowering. Still dont know whats wrong with my big girl. shes lookin horrible. the small er one although is keeping its green a bit better. It really sucks but the bud output is still growing out fast doesnt seem to have stunted her to much. The big girl however also has no signs of trichs. But the little girl has so many it really oes look like i did the plant in sugar. amazing. Im guessing the little one beat up the big one an took her trichs. lol just kidding but anyways heres the pics.

the buds are coming along nicely. the little one has a bunch of trichs. the big one has none but shes big. p.s. just got some new ones but the hole is only tiny, once the toe goes through the hole then ill throw them away..... lol. Never can have too many socks

I have the same sock philosophy.lol What strain is the bigger plant?

getting in a bit late on this one, but scribed. Sorry newb so not sure on issue with large plant is it same type as smaller plants?

the seeds i use right now are just bag seeds, only my second grow gonna wait to get a bit more serious. The big one i thought was the same as the little but im guessin there from different sacks. i have another one going in another room as kind of a test subject. only one 68watt light bulb. My girlfriends dad came up with the contraption i just care for the plant. ill put up a picture in a few. pretty sure its a female.

heres another bagseed i have growing in another room. Its my girlfriends dads plant i just care for it, so technically its mine. But shes growing in Fox Farm Happy Frog with perrillite. Grown under 1 68watt 2700k light bulb. The nutrients im using are BioBizz grow an cal-mag.(calmag every other feeding) The fan leaves are huge.

i have 3 plants on the little one hoping for 1/2 to 3/4 ounce an big one i hope o get a half ounce depending on how much longer the fan leaves last.
