What would be the point of grafting a MJ plant? I mean if you have a mother plant say indica dom real good couch lock and then grafted a sativa dom to it what would happen would it produce indica like high because of the mother or stay soaring? I'm new at the horticulture stuff and herd or read something about grafting grapes like seedless on a seeded or something like that but with MJ would't a clone just be better?
 
If you take a bud of a female plant and graft it to a male plant you can pollenate a single bud and get seeds which then hold both genetics, a cross breed. This way you dont turn your whole plant to seed crop. The graft only takes a week or so to 'take' as long as the meristems marry well.
 
can you graft a female plant to a female plant? like if you were to do a vertical vine-like grow and graft like 4 different strains so you have a wall of different strains off one plant, would that be possible? i know it can be done with peaches and grapes.
 
Ok if it just for novelty then go for it... Variety? If you already have the plants then you already have variety.
 
My latest experiment was to modify my SOG......I took two clones, one AK47 and one Diesel and grew them in a modified rockwool cube and took the time and care as to allow plenty of room for the roots and transplanted it into buckets filled with hydroton. This way instead of having 16 AK and 16 diesal I can double my plants while still utilizing the same amount of space. Im just trying to squeeze every possible ounce out of one tray. Would grafting increase my yield or just turn into another crazy experiment?
 
Another crazy experiment. Grafting multiple strains to one root system will only save space on root systems, which is not typically where we need more room. You'll still end up with the same amount of flowering space, and you'll need to give the grafts time to heal.

Mutiple grafts will most likely be unsuccesful for a number of reasons.

I think your missing the obvious. This could be very useful if you want a variety of mother strains but have limited space in your mother room. Right now I have Alaskan Ice and the Church growing. I only have room enough for 1 mother plant. It would be cool if I could graft the church to the ice so I could clone both strains from 1 mother.
 
Im not missing anything, I was replying specifically to the person in question and his particular motivation. Grafting is used primarily for genetic hybridisation not for space saving.
