Where can I get CO2 from?

Starvin why would a party store have co2?? They sell helium which is way different. Spraying plants with carbonated water can lead to light burns and clogged leaves so be careful.You dont want to really close your light off as you needf temps closer to 85-90 with co2 and you can use dry ice but it will cost a ton figure -5-10 lbs a aday for 2 months so that waht $10 a day for 60 days at least so $600 might as well buy a decked out injection or burner for that much.

As far as doing the DIY co2 ideas go, they are all pretty much bunk unless you're actually brewing beer, in which case you'll get a product in the end.

Using yeast and sugar water is just a mess to try and keep up with. The yeast eat it up too fast. Some complex carbs will go longer and slower.

Dry ice? 5 pounds? Hope you've got great ventilation, or open the windows in the room off of your closet, or you could wake up dead. Let alone that you could just BUY weed with that kind of money.

Also, if you buy a tank, keep in mind that gas distributors sell "food" and "industrial" co2.

Go with the beer brewing, start batches every two weeks. You could actually run the hose from the brew containers into your grow space. (big carbuoys have been known to explode). Any fan will keep the gas mixed in the air.

With the money you save from making your own beer, after initial investment, in four months time, you can buy a real co2 system.

i just water my plants with a little carbinated water mixed with disstilled water

i don't believe the roots can use CO2 so unless you are foliar feeding...

You can rent a tank and have it filled at most welding supply shops, or just buy your own tank and have it filled at a welding supply shop...I bought my own tank and it cost me $19 to have the 20# tank filled. Dont worrie about them asking questions, and even if they do its just for your welder, or kegorator. And just get you a nice little regulator for it and your set. Just shop around on line for the tank, (i think i paid $89 for my tank, "which is a great deal") i cant remember where i got it.

It controls the temp and co2.. The box will auto shut off the fans and exhaust when you reach the temp you want and turn on the co2, and is light sensitive so the co2 will not run when the lights are off...

While it is similar to the CT-DH-3 it has the added feature of offering independent outlets for temperature and humidity control. It is ideally suited for use with dehumidifiers. Temperature raise will activate the right hand outlets and deactivate the CO2 outlet. Humidity rise will activate the dehumidifying outlet. Internal sensors will allow a 7° temperature comfort zone and a 7% humidity (differential) between the time the equipment goes "Off "and comes back "On" again. Plug the controller into 110V wall outlet. Set the temperature and humidity to the desired settings. The CO2 outlet is normally in the "On" position and is able to activate CO2 equipment as needed. Is there a difference in CO2 grade seriously? We are not putting this on food, and as far as I know the only difference is the requirements on the equipment that fill the canisters, and not the gas itself...

Yeah, I know, but there are different industrial lubricants used in the production of these things... consider nitrous for cars, whipped cream, and for dentists...

So this stuff will be filling your grow, aspirated into the air, falling on your plants. Sure, a big breathful of the stuff might not kill you, but we are talking about plants living in and under the stuff for three months at a time, taking stuff in through their leaves and roots all the time.

Call me a worrywart, but I'm all for erring on the side of caution...

Umm I did the diy co2 on my first grow and then opted not to use it on my second grow, well it got me about 25% bigger yeilds with just a 5 gallon bucket, yeast, water, and sugar. Just make sure to change the water out every 4-5 days. Sure there are easier ways but this is a whole lot cheaper than most since it maybe cost like 2-3 bucks a week. I would only use this for a small space like maybe 4-5 plants tops

Ditto. This is what I did, but I used gallon jugs placed strategically around the grow. Doesn't take a lot, either. And it definately works.

The least expensive and most practical of all of the suggestions.

Get a tank, ditch the buckets, and put plants there instead... you'll increase your yield by 50%!

2 or 3 bucks a week? Do you know how cheap the gas itself is? You can buy a metal cylinder for less than $100, easy.

I try to keep the humidity down, too.

In my area co2 at the welding supply shop cost me $19+fees so $21 to fill a 20# tank, and no questions asked. And the 20# tank with the calculations for the co2 will last me almost 3mo, so $21 every 2-3mo is nothing. The tank cost me $89 online + shipping so about $11o, and the reg cost me $79 on e bay. Mine is all automatic, "no worries and no fuss". For a complete co2 system it will cost you but it will save you money in the long run.

The party supply store here in town sells it but they also allow you to rent soda type machines. It is also located next door to the Hydroponics store so maybe they understand that they can profit from it as well. I didn't know they had it until I was told by the hydroponics store so he tries to promote it for next door.

Yes, but im not going to start the Co2 untill around wk 3 maybe sooner, it just depends on how they are doing...I have a friend that uses co2 from start to finish, and he said he gets anywhere from 40-60% better yelds since he has started using co2...(and i have seen his results and it is quit notacable)
