just checked and it's down to 82 within 30 min. I think the air moving up from the bottom intakes and out the top thru the exhaust will be more than enough circulation for a little cab. Any input?

nice, you def got some lumens there. can you try to mount the ballasts for the lights on the outside of cabinet. they're probably magnetic, and do get warm

Thanks 4 droppin in Joe. Gatcha already they r mounted under the cab in a cubbie hole a made. Still 81 u think the air circulation is sufficient? As of now all the circulation comes from the intake to the exhaust from bottom to top. But it's 9 to 10 deg cooler this way.

Quick little update

Got outta bed looked in the cab first thing like every morning. Temp 93 WTF. Thought I licked that prob! So I've been thinking it over and I thought about how heat rises. Well I have a big circulation fan in there going while the lights r on. My question to myself was, How do u expect the fcking heat to rise with that big ass fan blowing all around. So the cabs not like a room Where u need that big fan so I shut all the fans off except the exhaust fan and closed it up. 90 deg when I closed it up just checked and it's down to 82 within 30 min. I think the air moving up from the bottom intakes and out the top thru the exhaust will be more than enough circulation for a little cab. Any input? I'll check it throughout the day from my web cam and let u all know whats up.
good thinking dude. I wonder how much cooler my cab would have been without the fans blowing around in there. haha. i ordered high speed pc fans so that should be enough lol.

I think anything in the low 80's should be good. I have a little seedling room going with fluoros and even that has been getting up to the mid 80's on warmer days with no problems. Think about it. Sativa strains come from more tropical climates where I'm sure the summer temps get well into the 90's or even the 1000's. Indicas come from cooler areas, but even there, summer temps can reach the 80's and 90's Some people will tell you the temps have an effect on sex, but personally I think that is determined in seed.

So what exactly did you do? You turned the oscillating fan off and just let the exhaust fan on?

Yeah I agree I think my temp probs r over thank god.

I was just thinking about how hot air rises and how that's supposed to happen in a cab while all the air is being circulated. It can't. So my options were to get a bigger exhaust fan or turn off the circulation fans. After turning off the fans except exhaust the temps just kept getting better and better. They range from 77 with A/C on to 82 when it's been off 4 a while right before it kicks on again. Thats 11 deg cooler at the hottest point. I think the air constantly move though the cab from the intakes to the exhaust will be plenty of circulation. What do you think about it?

i don't think you need extra movement unless stems are week and you're trying to strengthen them. but remember cool air on bottom. Is the bottom of cabinet cool or warm. maybe try mounting ballasts on the backside of unit.

Sounds good to me man. I'm still a novice myself, but if it's keeping your temps down I'd go with it. Like Joe said, a breeze will strengthen the stem, but being able to keep the lights closer now that the temp is down will prevent the stretching. From what I've been reading, they like the fresh air, but the exhaust and intake you have going is probably providing that.

looks good CS!!

i think i heard, or maybe seen, that lemon haze gets tall. i know you have more height room than most cab growers, but i figured I would bring it up in case you didnt know. nice grow by the way, been very interesting to watch

Nice one CS. With that extra wattage of HPS i worry your temps are going to be an issue at some stage. Let us know once that baby is installed.

Hell yeah chainseeker you are a NINJA! Lookn good!

Are the fans loud? I just run fans around the hidden box to cover the noise. How do you cover up the fan noise.

Hope your temps stay cool. If you got a standard squrare reflector you can usualy seal the heat in around the bulb with 1/8 inch pyrex sheet glass, its pretty dam cheap an takes high temps! 24x24 is 30$ish here. Than vent your reflector an vent the heat out.
