does anyone know how much degrees would go up in a 4 x 4 x 8 grow room with one 600w hps hortilux bulb with white flat walls and one 6 inch fan blowing at the light, another blowing at the plants 3 inch, no exhaust in the room just air in and out when i enter grow room?? cause i wanna figure out if my temp is gonna be to high in there before i start. i also got a cool mist humidor in there

temps are right now with no light hi/lo 72-76 temp
45-80% humidity

i ordered my ballast cord and this website its been 15 days no shipment no replys doing paypal chargeback and now ordered another from someone on ebay! ahhh i could of started germination 4 days ago

you have 128 cuibic feet of space and need to exchange the air at the least every 2 min.

I GIVE IT 6 HOURS BEFOR IT GETS OVER 100 IN THERE AND EVEN HIGHER UP TO 115 IT WILL KILL YOUR PLANTS.

Got to have ventlation some how. Whats the issue?

you gotto have exhaust man.. might even want 2 seperate exhaust.. 1 for scrubber and one for cooling lights..

and woodsmaneh! is right.. will probably kill your plants if only airexchange will be when you enter the grow hehe

You could leave the door open a little, but you're gonna have a hell of a time controlling the temp in there...If the 6 inch fan you mentioned is a small oscillating fan, then that's not going to do anything for you...You could air cool it but you'll need to draw air from outside your tent...You could jump on craigslist and buy a small a/c unit for about $50....But really think about this before starting

Go with a air cooled hood and get a 6" inline fan for it. I had a 1k watt in a 10x10 room and even with 3 big fans and a AC unit in my room it still got 90 degrees easy. Air cooled hoods are the way to go man

this sucks im gonna have to get a cool tube and a 6" fan would suffice for my area? (cooled hood better then cool tube or the same?) the fan attached to the carbon filter attached to the cool tube would bring down temps enough? i read someone said it brought their temp down 8-10 degrees with fans , what do you guys think will that help? outside on top of this room, theirs about 4 feet n the rest of the room theirs 2 more feet (where the ballast will be) to help cool down the room with the lights. then the entrance of the closet opens with a door, and the window is right there and fresh air flows in sometimes very windy if i open the entire window. problem is summer is coming so hotter drier air, thats why i got a cool mist humidifier

i have a hydrofarm Xtrasun Ballast so i need something that will work with that

man this is gonna cost me

local store got it for 84 gonna call to see if they have it in stock so i can save some cash! lol still need a ppm n ph meter. got only ph solution

i was in the same shoes when constructing my growroom.. went for the cheap 4".... now im running 2 x 6" for exhaust.. so buying cheap costs more because you have to upgrade when you realize it wont cut it..

what ive learned from this growroom is that ventilation is probably the one place you need to pay what you need to pay and not cut corners..

also with thoose cooltubes you can really get that light in there on top of the plants.

im running 2 x 400 watt hps and i swear i cant have it closer than 70+ cm away. if i put it at 50cm temps at canopy goes beyond 90f.

im looking to upgrade my ventilation system a third time ( cooltubes ect) so that makes me have too buy new reflectors.. higher diameter ducting bla bla bla.

shoulda spent thoose bucks on day one and saved me alot of cash that i coulda spent on other pretty equiptment...

That 600 is a bitch to cool, I am struggling to cool mine too, I will do it but FUCK! it gets so hot! you defo. will need cool air fed in and hot air sucked out, in the space you've mentioned you'll literally turn your growroom into an oven, hope you find a good way to cool it......and then let me know what you did :) cheers - STELTHY

that cool tube is depicted as including the cord from the ballast to the socket. if so, it's very likely the standard male-end as shown in pic. your ballast should have a female end identical to the pic.

i asked the seller said he has an adaptor that will plug this into my xtrasun ballast so im gonna probably go for this one and im gonna buy a hydrofarm active air 6" in-line duct fan

and then prolly do a carbon filter on the other end of the cool tube

look at this picture, im gonna set mine up this way

hey so i bought the HydroFarm 6" Active Air duct fan, and the cool tube 19" by 6"

so the air will enter thru the carbon filter then the fan its gonna be pushing the hot air through the lamp and out my grow room

so how do i get fresh air in the grow room? (simple cheap way please!)

will this work, i got a humidifier right, so can i put a fan pushing air in the grow room, then have the humidifier behind the fan on, so that it will suck that somewhat filtered nice cool misted fresh air in the grow room?

is this a room in your house, closet or what? you need intakes as low as possible near the floor and exhaust at the top where the hot air rises.
passive intakes will work fine co2 wise though active intakes do help more on the cooling part

its in my closet in my room, closet is big has a actual door, the window is right outside the door so if i open the door, and open window, air flows in from outside easy

i am bulding my grow room inside the closet , using the the back wall and side walls (painted flat white)
and closing it off with panda mylar bright white and black outside for light

cutting hole from top (got shelve there on top too) will put the duct with hot air from inside coming out the top there and a fan to blow that air out the closet

then i was thinking of cutting a hole on the bottom front of the mylar door i create, for intake air back in the grow room using a regular small fan with my cool mist humidifier blowing into the fan only problem with this is light going in soooo i might use some of the duct pipe to attach in a 90 degree angle so light doesnt pass thru

put that around your bulb with some cheap AC vents from home depot with some intake fans. i used computer fans mainly cause they're super quiet and cheap.
IDK where you buy your PC fans, but let me know please. Using a PC fan for a cool tube is very bad idea. They aren't ment to handle that much heat, nor can they push/pull enough air to do the job.
