Greenhouse Pics (In Gallery)

Getting close to completing my greenhouse. Question: Does anyone have a spray paint they could recommend which would allow light in but make it impossible for people to view inside? I have read the snow for Christmas windows has been used but I'm looking for a metallic type paint that would make the corrugated plastic panels appear metal at a glance without sacrificing the sun light. I will be lining the entire inside with foil or something as a few hours of light will be indirectly bounced off the side of the house. More pics will be posted once I grab them from a friend. The exterior wood will be painted to match the house and trim.

Thanks for the help! :hump:

Are you only getting light in from the top? If you need to you can use some opaque plastic like from farmtek to use. I use the stuff for all around the GH and it works great! Also have you adressed ventilation yet? You probably have power so you could run fans if needed. Also you could line the insides with mylar for more internal light reflection. I'll be checkin your thread out man!

From the top and that one side against the house. For ventilation I will be having two fans in the back door top and bottom. One intake one exhaust of course. Still have to cut and frame them out. Behind my house is a bike path so I want to keep the shed appearance as much as possible. I will most likely have to run a portable A/C as well since it will be getting hot as shit in there. The purpose of the holes in the floor is to maximize the grow space. I'm using 10 gallon buckets that will be dug in the ground with only the lip resting on the floor. Gonna wire up the fans together on a single thermostat. Mylar would be MUCH better than foil thanks for the headsup! Tapped into my existing drip system on a timer so water is covered. ;>P

Ok here's another thing that you can do that might be worth it. I installed a little fan (that runs on 12v) with a lid that you can manually open every morning. The kind in the little campers you know. I got it at camping world for like $75.00 the complete unit. A simple solar panel 15W from harbor frieght will run that sucker very nice, hell I used a 5W panel last year and it worked.

Yeah I was thinking of something like that. They actually make a solar powered fan that go for around $25 on ebay. I am going to rig up an air filter system for both fans to keep the smell as low as possible. This thing should be pretty air tight. I'm blowing through cans of that Great Stuff everywhere possible and putting that split foam insulating pipe stuff around the edges of the holes for the buckets to squish down on. It should be done by Thursday so I'll keep updating the pics.

I need spray paint recommendations help me Rhonda help help me Rhonda.

All the drip lines are finished and transplanted my housewarming gift. Picking up five of her sisters tonight. Still need to dig out the holes for the buckets.

I still have the question of what paint to use on the roof and wall of the corrugated plastic. I decided against mylar and am going to paint the whole interior flat white. Can I use the same paint on the plastic? It's not a reflective question it's about light being able to penetrate.

Thanks dudes.

Throw something reflective on the walls to make the most of it since you only have some sunlight at the top. It'll help. I built a grow shed very similar to this and painted the interior white.

i wouldnty worry about painting it, in my greenhouse the condensation build up blocks out any view of the inside but its very bright inside

Ok here are some updated pics. Got the inside painted meow. I ran out and it needs another coat in some places. Got the holes dug, filled the bottom few inches with pea gravel before setting them in. Stapled down the split foam around the edges, and planted 5 Blue Cheese snacks. The more mature clone is Strawberry Cough. Ventilation is next.

Ok back to building. Had to go out of the country for 10 days and wasn't able to work on the shed. Here is yesterday's pic of the strawberry cough. It almost tripled while I was away.
