1. soak seed in plain ph6 water for 6 hours
2.plant into your medium 1/16 inch down
3.water it in
4.18/6 with a small 6400k cfl
5.wait

alot of people say no light but i have had tremendous success with this method.

Exactly what i was about to write. Apparently jondamon said it first.

There are many methods that work, but i really like this method. Its just too easy.

my sentiments exactly.

there is no need to worry about taproot damage or contamination to the exposed taproot

So when you say plain ph6 water that just means normal tap water?
And I'm kind of lost what does step #4 means.....I'm hella new at this shiit....thanks

Dead on foolproof way. If your new to the whole thing, do this.

As i got a bit more experienced at it and played around experimenting, i dont do it anymore. see iam a bit impatient, and that method can still take a day or two. now, i like to chip the outer shell and expose the inside, before doing this (or paper towel) and gives me that 1/4" tap within 6 hours. have seen some pretty vigorous growth from it too (though i admit the likelihood of them being connected is slim). Either way, i wouldnt do this until you play around with it on some bagseeds. its pretty easy to ruin the seed (though i damaged an embryo and it made the cola in my avatar) or slice your fingers.

he means 18 hours light, 6 hours dark light schedule with a blue spectrum (anywhere between 64k and 67k will be just fine) bulb.
tap water will more than likely work fine, but there is no way to truly know your tap pH without testing it (mine comes out at over 9, but still works fine). most bottled water in stores is around 6, and the 69c gallon jugs distilled water at most stores are 6.5 as well.

Klosetking ....will a black liight work fiine on a weed plant?....and how can you test the ph level of your tap water?...or is it ok to use pure water from the store? .....hiit me back thanks

My favorite way, is a cup method. You will need a plate (something with a little depth so it can catch a little water) and a coffee cup filled with 1/3 of water. Take 1 square piece of towel. Fold the towel in half. Put the seeds in the middle of towel. Fold again, so that the seeds are sandwiched in there. Now stick one end into the cup of water. Hang the seeds over the cup and make the towel go straight down, so that the other end is on the plate. With the paper towel hanging straight down and the seeds outside of cup, gravity will draw the seeds downwards. And the cup of water will make sure that the paper towels will stay uniformly wet and not drenched. I would just have the cup sitting next to the plate not on it. You will have to watch bc all the water will be in the plate in around 8-12 hrs maybe sooner. I just check it every 8-12 and fill the coffee cup back up with water. You might have to sop some water up from the plate with paper towels. It just depends how much humidity you can create. oyea and make sure its in a box with no light getting to it. and try to keep it upwards of 80F but obviously nothing over 90 I'd say. Ive tried the plate method, shot glass method, rockwool method and this gives me the best results. Good Luck!

no, a blacklight will not work. it is common myth that is heard around here, but as far as i can tell its widely discounted as being effective. the spectrum of light is comlpletely (or near) useless for mj.
you can test your waters pH with several kits or pens that are available. i personally would get an aquarium pH test kit as they are cheap and can do fine for testing tap water until you can afford a good pen. bear in mind if your tap water is too high or too low, you will need to get some pH up/down accordingly. testing soil pH is a little more unknown to me, i have a rapitest soil test kit i use for doing it. not sure what others use, i think testing the runoff is a common method.

pure water from the store is fine, so long as by pure water you mean the jugs of Distilled or Reverse Osmosis water.

ah, very good point this is often overlooked. the safety range from what i can tell is pretty wide, your safe in the 60's-90's i would bet, but the extremes of either can hurt germination chances especially on older seeds.

Klosetking is right, you will need reversed osmosis or distilled. The stores i go to have three choices... distilled, drinking, and spring. Drinking Water is going to be reversed osmosis, i haven't seen one thats been labeled drinking water and not be reversed osmosis. Spring is a no, the water is not filtered in anyway. Spring water has been taken from some nearby natural spring. It sounds like it might be good, but its not when you are adding nutes and have to have a certain ppm and ph.

If this is confusing to you i suggest you begin reading, as this was basic language of growing.
DO NOT START TO GERMINATE SEEDS YET.

You have a good few days reading ahead of you before you want to attempt germination.

Start with the sticky's at the top of the newbie central forum.

Haha exactly what i was thinking. I fill a small measuring cup with water, put the seed in, and put it over my cable box for heat. It takes less than a day for my seeds to crack open. I put it into a peat pellet and then put that under a 6500K light so it gets heat and gets light as soon as it pops up. I actually have a seed in one now.

I just germinated last week! I used Root Riot cubes and they sprouted in 2 days! At the end of the 2nd day they were in inch tall! 7 out of 8.
5 lsd, 1 cole train, 1 rocklock, and the sharksbreath no dice. Root Riot is the SH*&!!!!!!!!!!

notice that most people are saying 'they broke ground on day 2' and whatnot. say what you will about the dangers of chipping, but now that i have it down, i never wait longer than 24 hours for my seedlings to not just germ, but plant and break soil as well.

take deer meat out of freezer.

while still cold but not frozen, cut slit in it adn put seeds in.
wait 2-3 days.

germs the hardest seeds. works every time.
