good times!

i dont know who told you that for 21 days you can only buy from them but theres places that do not care how long its been so long as you have a doctor rec.

feels good eh?

The 21 day waiting period? I didn't read the whole law document(s), but you're able to buy after 21 days OR the State cashes your $100 application check, whichever comes first. They're backed up till at least April on getting the cards out.

I'm excited! No more shitty weed!

I just wanted to say that I have been coming around here for a while now. It saddens me that some people are ruining the process by not playing by the rules. All things in good time. I never dreamed that I would be living in a world where patients could have their medicine without fear of prosecution. I was at the front of the line for the license when it was first made legal. The state sent me my renewal paperwork about a month before it was due and I got my new card in 2 weeks. I don't understand all the belly aching and complaining about the state taking so long to process information. The first time also took about 2 weeks. I would say they are doing a good job in my experience. As for all the pricing I have read in this thread - absurd. I guess these so called dispensaries have to charge so much to pay the legal & seizure fees when they get busted for operating an illegal business under the current structure of the law. - just my 2 pennies! As for me, I will grow my own and keep within my state appointed limit and nobody gets hurt - nobody goes to jail. Thanks RIU for teaching me to be self sufficient.

there will always be someone not playing by the rules, its just the way it goes...im not supporting it, just tellin it like it is.

if everyone got their cards in 2 weeks they wouldnt be complaining either..

i totally agree that the pricing is absurd (as do a lot of people on here). i would buy a gram or two or maybe some hash but would never buy a decent amount of meds for the prices they charge.

i will be growin my own and stayin within state limits/laws as well, i would hate to fuck up and lose my card for good.

your two pennies are pretty much irrelevant concidering your experience was back when it first took affect. you dont understand all the bellyaching and complaining yet your reading the posts and you see that it currently (and for a long while now) takes four months to recieve your card. obviously nobody would complain if they recieved their card in two weeks.

dispensaries work well to get meds to people who dont have any other way of obtaining it. its pretty clear how it works, the growers (caregivers) sell their meds for an average of 300 an ounce, to their patients, to other patients and to dispensaries. now in order for them to make money they sell it for 500 on average. its pretty simple imo either grow your own or buy from a caregiver. if you dont know a grower then go to a dispensary and pay a butt load (your just buying it second hand, get it?) its the same or similar to buying from a friend who buys from a grower.

if their illegal under the structure of our written law then why arent they being shut down? why? because their not illegal. ive been going to the same places for six months and those places werent brand new when i started and their still going strong so....

Meeting Minutes PDF.
Press Release synopsis of minutes.

L. Brooks Patterson has sent out a request to all villages, townships, and counties to put a moratorium on new dispensaries. Also they are going to be doing surveys and investigations of the effects that marijuana dispensaries will have on the community. Looks like it will last at least 120 days. During that time no new licenses or permits will be issued to create dispensaries or sell marijuana. This wont affect caregivers and patients that work together and quietly, but dispensaries and grow operations should be on alert. I contacted the Oakland County Clerk about the issue. They gave me L. Brooks Patterson's mailing address and suggested I write to him. I want to offer it to you guys on the RIU forum so we can all write to him. The more people we can get that have knowledge and expertise in this field to write to Patterson the better. We need to convince the local government the best way to set up and distribute medical marijuana.

i think its the townships and counties choice to put a moratorium on them and they always have that choice so nothing has happened here except l brooks p has asked them to do so.
