Not to argue, what you do works, but 5$ for 75 staples for a few years of perpetual growing is far cheaper than 3$ for a single season. Staples won't come out or peel off. Leaves/resin don't get stuck to staples. You don't need to make hooks with wire/pliers or any of that.
Staples allow me to grow plants horizontally while string allowed me to pull some branches out while the plant still grew vertically. Imagine there being a screen at the top of your pot that you could use to tuck the branches under and spread them out. Outdoors, it isn't a big deal, but indoors I can make sure my plants get as big as they can while not taking up vertical space. The plants are pure canopy like what you see in a SCROG but without the stretching/trimming.
I agree, rust is something I too worried about but they are galvanized so the rust comes on slow if at all. Its only something that I've started doing recently. I initially began by weaving string across the top of a pot and kept the the stems under the string but that seemed to stifle them too much and was a lot of work to keep up. I may end up using string + staples to bring them lower though.
I think we are all in agreement here, of course, it's all about personal preference and your style. And that's why I consider growing cannabis 75% science and 25% art. I'm pretty much locked into the "floral tape & hooks" because of the tight area I grow in, and the cost effectiveness of these 2 items. Guys, I'm 71, I spend approx. 6 hours every day out there, we have music, sometimes I sing to the girls. (actually, I've stopped this practice for fear of "stressing" them, LOL). And, I have all the time in the world to sit on my "throne" and make my little "custom" "S-hooks". My style of LST only uses the rim of the 10 gallon totes, as to avoid anything penetrating the soil.
So, there it is, we all love to dance, just some got different moves, eh?
Wishing all, Good luck & good grow.......BB
thanks man, its an indoor/outdoor auto.looks great for that kind of grow
she looks like she smells good, a mall dose of veg nutes might help those yellow leafs a bit the more healthy leaf means more buds. but either way she looks dank.
plant looks nice. ive noticed alot of peoples pots have all theri perlite on top witch really is not a good thing cuz that helps aireate the roots, it is caused from watering to fast with lots of water so it raises the perlite and once it is ontop is is pretty much useless of having in the soil. so if anyone wants to have the per lite stay in the soil just water slower and it wont raise. just my opinion you dont have to but it being on top defeats the purpose of it.
Thanks dude, i gave her 2 small feedings (teaspoon per gallon) of MG
All purpose.within the last week, should I hit her up again with it?

If you have a large plant in a container with 50% perlite that happens every time. It doesn't hurt anything, and allows air to get to the roots easier. The air has to come in from somewhere, and it's definitely not through the container.
I can't believe its not Butter
