Bubblelicious Autoflower! FIRST GROW

So this is my first grow, constructed a stealth rubbermaid growbox there's about 2 1/2 feet of clearance once you take into account the pot size and where the lights are.

I got 6 26w CFL's growing ONE PLANT. (don't wanna deal with smell reduction)

Right now i just planted not even 2 days ago a bubblelicious autoflower seed from nirvana. I checked on the seed today and its not only germinated but dug its root down and looks like its ready to shed its husk and make a run for the border :D

I got Fox farm Ocean forest going And when the time comes i got FM Big bloom, tiger bloom and grow big.

When the closet is shut on the one side you can't even tell there's a rubbermaid box in there. Also the fan up top is pretty powerful (vornado), in fact it cools a little to much so i keep it at slow speed. I got one on the inside to.. and an intake hole at the bottom. Putting your hand by there you can feel air rushing in.

Next update will be when the plant shows its head :D which I'm hoping is by Wednesday! Oh yeah and i'm runnning 18/6 on the autoflower until harvest. Because it works perfectly with my work and school schedule.

Come home (check plant, water or nute if necessary then lights off)
Come home from school (lights on)

Repeat :)

Just your Regular 26w CFL's they put out about 1700 lumens each. (lost the box) So for the one plant i got a little over 10,000 lumens which I'm sure is more than enough. My plant just sprouted so i'm happy about that. Can't wait to see little leaves forming. I hear after a plant sprouts it picks up in speed as far as growing does.

By the way i did not germinate my seed first i just plopped it down into the soil.

When using something as weak as CFLs, you have to take into account how they don't penetrate very far. If you could get 10,000 lumens per square foot with an HPS/MH that's optimal, but to do so with CFLs is much more tricky.

In that grow I had at the peak of flowering 12x26w cfls through out a 2-1/2-3 square foot area. if i remember, it was pushing about 18,000 total lumens.

I do have two Y adapters i could buy 4 more CFL's to make it a total of 10. Would that be better? plant seems to be growing just fine though at least right now.

also I only have 1 plant growing at a time. I may do 2 at most because I don't want to have to deal with smell filtering. Also 1 plant i hear is good for at least a Quarter ounce. Which honestly is about all i was looking for. If i get more hey that's cool.

for how small it is, you don't need much.

and a QP is pushing a bit depending on the genetics, but as long as you keep the lights close and distribute the light evenly, it should be good. I pulled about 3 oz when i used CFLs.

was it with an autoflower? what gallon pot did you end up with?

i have been thinking of growing bubblelicious for sum time, so i will be looking in from time to time, so keep this journal up!!
i think you will do well with 6 of then CFL;s as i did my first grow with about the same, and got sum nice bud out of it!!

it was not an autoflower strain. I've toyed with the idea, but they're only supposed to make a 1/4oz-1/2oz per plant, not worth it.

That was just some random Purple Urkle cross that a friend hooked me up with, in a 2-1/2 gal hempy bucket.

Really it boils down to grow methods, genetics, and gumption!

Also, i just ordered some bubblicious non-autos, so hopefull your autos can give me an idea of what will come!

Yeah 1/4oz or 1/2oz is more than enough for me. I'm doing this for myself not to make cash money on. Although my killer buds will probably be sought after at least in my circle of smoker buddies and close friends. Simply because what's going around here is just dried up headache inducing low end commercial stuff. All the good stuff is on the college campus and those spoiled kids aren't sharing the love

Already noticed a potential problem. I notice extreamly small but fast moving bugs on the top of my Fox Farm Soil. I did some searching and it came up inconclusive. Basiclly some said it was bad others said it was good there was no majoirty answer. The plant looks healthy. And the bugs only move around in the soil. I went to fox farms websites and they stated that their soil is intentionally not sterilized and have lots of microbes and various other things alive inside the soil.

Should this be a concern?

I think i'll keep an eye out none the less

Sounds like fungus gnats. I had the same thing in my FFOF.

I let the soil dry out an extra day and I watered and fed a little less than usual. Then I mixed a couple drops of dish soap in a half gallon and added a quart topped off my two plants. Never saw them again.

I heard read fungus gnats are harmless to plants although they eat what the plant eats lol. they're elongated very skinny yet fast moving white bugs. explain this dish soap cleaning method to me

The gnats themselves dont really hurt anything. Its the larvae under the soil eating your roots that is the problem.

Let your soil go extra dry and just water your plants a like normal except for the last quart use the soap water mixture. No more than 2 or 3 drops per half gallon is what I used.

I thought it was an old wives tale that my girl was telling me but it totally worked. I think the soap just kills all the eggs.

I water out of a syringe right now simply because my plants are to young to be pouring half gallons into a small party cup lol. Should i just add a single drop to the water mixture inside the syringe? and what kinda soap should i use. there are several types of DISH SOAP
